Double the colour, double the beauty

Few things are as enamouring as an enchanting eye colour, whether it be a glacier blue, celery green, cocoa brown or alluring amber. But what about two enchanting eye colours on one person – pretty damn magical, right? Well, that’s exactly what those with heterochromia have to offer – double the colour and double the beauty.
So, what exactly is it? Heterochromia refers to a variation in colouration within the eye – but while we’re as obsessed with Kate Bosworth’s one blue and one blue-and-hazel situation as you are, that’s actually not the only way it occurs.
There are two types – complete (where, like in Bosworth’s case, one iris is primarily a different colour to the other), and sectoral (where a part or inner ring of the iris is a different colour from the rest of it). Any version is rare, though – less than one percent of the world’s population is affected – so it’s safe to say it’s very special.
Intrigued? We thought you might be. So, we’ve rounded up 13 celebrities with mismatched, miraculous and downright mesmerising eyes…
Bosworth is one of Hollywood's most well-known heterochromia instances, with one of her eyes a bright icy blue and the other mostly hazel.
Wilde is one of the celebs with sectoral heterochromia, as the inner rings of both irises are a noticeably paler green than the outer ones, leaving them looking downright captivating.
Kunis' eyes both fall into the green bracket, but after suffering from chronic inflammation of the iris for many years, one is a bright hazel and the other a more blue-based teal.
Add heterochromia to Henry Cavill (AKA Superman)'s long list of superpowers; while both of his eyes are primarily teal, the left features a unique speck of brown.
We can't take our eyes off of Eve's blue and green eye colour duo, though she did once reveal that it took her boyfriend a solid nine months to even notice the difference.
The difference between Moore's eyes is a little more on the subtle side, but look closely and it's clear; one eye is a true hazel whereas the other is a brighter green.
With darker rings around her irises and a piercing pale blue throughout the remainder, Jackson's striking eyes offer the kind of colour mix that most people only get from contacts.
Connelly's green gaze is anything but ordinary – her emerald eyes are lighter in the centre, darker around the outer iris and spiked with flecks of gold and black.
While Bowie's eyes appeared to be an instance of heterochromia, it was actually the result of an injury-provoked case of a condition called anisocoria, which leaves one pupil permanently dilated, leaving the eye looking darker and significantly different to its original appearance.
Our theory? Panic! at the Disco's classic track 'Kaleidoscope Eyes' had to have been penned about Hannigan's brown-to-hazel-to-green blend; it's absolutely hypnotising.
While Sherwood recently admitted it took him a long time to love his differently coloured eyes, we think his half-blue and half-brown pairing is gorgeous.
Jolie's eyes have a majestic green gradient about them, both starting bright and light around the irises and moving to a deeper sage shade around the outsides.
We must have watched Legally Blonde a zillion times, and yet we'd never realised how stunning Cauffiel's eyes were; one's a minty green shade and the other is speckled with bronze-y hazel.
