The product

Look, we’ll admit it, once you find a cleanser that works for you, there’s no going back.

A good cleanser has to wear many hats, catering to a multitude of skin needs, purifying (well, obvi) while also maintaining non-drying, non-comedogenic and easy-to-use status. And those are just a few of our non-negotiables.

Our REVIEWcrew® Members seem to share this sentiment, and recently they were tasked with trying CeraVe Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser. A budget-friendly pick, this creamy offering lathers to a rich but gentle foam that effectively cleanses skin of makeup, dirt and impurities without drying it out. Sounds promising, huh?

Here’s what our panel of Review Crew® testers had to say about this sensitive-skin friendly cleanser.

The panel

Beauty Crew sent CeraVe Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser to a panel of women aged 18 to 34 with normal to dry skin.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about CeraVe Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser.

How gentle it was: Our reviewers with sensitivity and ongoing skin issues found the cleanser gentle enough to use daily, without drying out their skin or causing feelings of tightness and discomfort.

The effective cleanse it delivered: Members were really impressed by the effective cleansing powers of this unassuming cleanser. A few of our members assured us that it was strong enough to take off all their makeup using the reliable double-cleanse method, but they only needed a single cleanse to effectively purify pores.

The price point: Members really loved the fact that CeraVe offers high quality ingredients like ceramides and hyaluronic acid at a reasonable price point meaning they don’t have to sacrifice their next meal (or splashy pair of shoes) for a new bottle of cleanser.

The verdict

“I suffer from perioral dermatitis and I'm always on the lookout for good quality, dermatologist endorsed products to keep my dermatitis at bay. CeraVe Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser ticks all the boxes… It is not drying out my skin, in fact, my skin feels hydrated and very soft. I feel that my face is thoroughly clean after application, and I've noticed that I have fewer pimples and imperfections on my face.”

“It pumps out of the bottle as a cream and foams up as you massage into your skin. Great as a double cleanser because it's gentle and it doesn't strip your skin and makes it squeaky. Leaves my skin feeling soft and fresh. I usually use it as a 2nd cleanser as I wear foundation on most days. But I've also found that it's been great for those non-makeup days or as a cleanser in the shower.”

“This product is a game changer. I have really sensitive skin which is normally pretty dry, but I get breakouts from a lot of products if they are too rich for my skin. The CeraVe cream to foam cleanser though has been an absolute dream and I have not only had hydrated skin but absolutely no breakouts.”
