The product

Taking care of sensitive skin can sometimes feel like an overwhelming undertaking.

There’s a slew of misinformation out there directing the extra sensitive among us to expensive remedies that more often than not just end up exacerbating the issue.

But in reality, the best remedy for sensitive skin is a simple skin care routine. One that helps to maintain the natural biological function that would occur in healthy skin. Think: Gentle formulas that promise to strengthen skin and replenish while they’re at it.

That’s where Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and Cetaphil Moisturising Cream come in.

Formulated for all skin types (but with the sensitive in mind), this two-step skin care system helps to effectively cleanse and hydrate without causing irritation, dryness or congestion. And the best part is these multipurpose products can be used on the face and body, making their budget-friendly price point all the more enticing.

Here’s what our panel of Review Crew® testers had to say about this gentle duo.

The panel

Beauty Crew sent Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and Cetaphil Moisturising Cream to a panel of women aged 25 to 40 with sensitive skin.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and Cetaphil Moisturising Cream.

How effective the cleanser was: Our members who have tried and subsequently been disappointed by traditionally lacklustre gentle cleanser formulas said they loved how effective this pick was at lifting dirt, impurities and makeup from skin without causing irritation or dryness.

The moisturising cream was hydrating but not heavy: A number of our members were shocked at how easily the cream absorbed into skin considering how rich the formula felt. A number of reviewers said that they usually found it difficult to get their hands on a cream that doesn’t feel sticky after application but this pick has changed their minds completely.

How the range helped to keep sensitive skin performing at its best: The members on this Review Crew® have sensitive skin and so taking care of their complexion is a top priority. Many noted that the range made caring for their skin so much easier, thanks to simple to use formulas that were gentle and restorative.

The verdict

“I used the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser in the morning and at night to gently clean my skin of sleep, pollutants and make-up. I have to say this product is fantastic to use for sensitive skin. My face felt thoroughly cleansed, hydrated and extremely soothed. I enjoyed using it with tepid water and… when I needed to reduce water usage, I used a small dollop onto a soft cloth and massaged this in and wiped it off to find clean skin with no irritation.”

“True to its word [Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser] is a gentle cleanser and you don’t need much... I have found that it’s great at removing sunscreen after a day out as well as using it to remove light makeup…. I often find I get pimples on my chest, back/neck and backs of legs where sweat builds up. This product has been a game changer. I find it really cleanses the area at night and does not dry it out at all. The decrease in roughness of my skin has been dramatic as I’ve been struggling to find something that will help it.”

“I have heard great things about cetaphil, especially for sensitive skin, so I was excited to try this [Cetaphil Moisturising Cream]. I have sensitive skin which is typically dry, however recently I have noticed that my t-zone has become much oilier. The cream is thick, much thicker than my usual face moisturiser, but it applies really easily and absorbs quicker than I would have thought. My skin looks moisturised after use, and there is no unwanted residue left on the skin. I love how much product you get for the price.”

“I am so impressed with [Cetaphil Moisturising Cream]. This is my first time trying it. A very generous size - good bang for buck and will last ages. The skin on my body is slightly dehydrated from over showering due to my work so I desperately needed to become better with body care. The product looks thick in texture but spreads beautifully over my body. There is no fragrance, it is not overly creamy and my skin doesn't feel sticky afterwards. This is something that I can actually commit to using everyday after my shower and go straight to bed after/put on my clothes.”
