11 limited edition Christmas lipsticks to add to your makeup collection
We can already feel our dopamine levels rising…
By Briar Clark
Beauty Crew Beauty Editor / November 30 2023
During the lead up to Christmas we have a tendency to get a little over excited by all the limited edition makeup releases.
Whether it’s a beauty advent calendar or a makeup gift pack, we have our eyes on it all.
We fervently save up our pennies or add them to our wish lists in the vain hope we might just get our hands on them before they sell out.
But when it comes to limited edition Christmas lipstick we don't have the same kind of patience.
We maintain the perspective that a single tube of lipstick, although expensive, can’t bankrupt us in the long run. It can, however, bring us an immense amount of happiness and a short lived (but necessary) increase in dopamine levels.
So, if like us, you’re unafraid to throw caution to the wind when it comes to lip colour, keep scrolling. Ahead you’ll find 11 limited edition Christmas lipsticks that’ll fit in perfectly with the rest of your makeup collection…
Charlotte Tilbury Limited Edition Rock Lips K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in ‘Ready For Lust’
A berry-hued limited edition lipstick is always worth celebrating but this Rock Lips collaboration between Charlotte Tilbury and Elton John’s Aids Foundation is extra special. Inspired by Elton John’s iconic ‘70s wardrobe, this lipstick concept was designed to bring awareness to AIDS and The Rocket Fund.

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Candy Glaze Holiday 2023 Limited Edition
Fallen into the trap of thinking that all Christmas lipstick has to be red? This candy glaze lipstick is for you. It leaves lips with a subtle sheen of glossy hydration and is made for the girlies that prefer a nude liner and clear gloss over a traditional lipstick formula.

Tom Ford Cafe Rose Lip Colour Matte
We don’t know how he did it, but Tom Ford has managed to create the perfect pinky nude shade for every single skin tone. This unique cafe rose colour emulates the finish of brown lipsticks of the ‘90s and marries it with a moisturising modern formula that’s creamy to apply and wears well throughout the day.

Chanel Rouge Allure Laque Ultrawear Shine Liquid Lip Colour in ‘91 Fancy Prune’
In our opinion, Chanel’s best products exist in the moody gradient between red and black, and this liquid lip colour is a testament to that theory. The shimmery, lacquered finish is luxurious and elevated, and the precision tip applicator allows you to seamlessly line and fill lips simultaneously.

Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick Limited Edition in ‘913 Mystic Plum Matte’
Dior’s satin matte lipstick formula is a personal favourite of ours. The velvety smooth formula glides onto lips delivering brilliant and instant colour pay-off, plus, it layers beautifully when you need to touch-up throughout the day.

Givenchy Christmas Collection Le Rouge Interdit Intense Silk Lipstick in ‘N554’
Unlikely to wear a bright red lipstick, even on Christmas day? This silk finish nude lipstick was literally made for such occasions. Bonus: the gorgeous limited edition bullet will make a chic addition to your purse regardless of the time of year.

Hermès Rouge Hermès Sheer Lipstick Limited Edition in ‘72 Rouge Bruni’
Hermès sheer lipsticks are our go-to on days when we’d rather be wearing lip balm but the occasion calls for something a bit more involved. The formula is incredibly moisturising and delivers a silky sheen of lip colour that errs on the side of lip gloss rather than the opaque colour payoff of a traditional matte lipstick.
$125 at MYER
Clinique Limited Edition Almost Lipstick in Black Honey
Clinique’s Black Honey lipstick is almost always sold out, which is why we were so excited to see this limited edition version of the iconic lip colour in the brand’s holiday makeup collection this year. It’s the same ‘your lips but better’ lipstick you know and love, just covered in jewels.

Fenty Beauty Holiday Limited Edition Icon Semi-Matte Refillable Lipstick Set in ‘Sorta Single’
If there’s one thing we can trust, it’s that Fenty Beauty will never release a predictable holiday collection. This year Rihanna has paired her semi-matte refillable lipstick with a limited edition lipstick case keyring that is intended to be used year-round — not just the festive season.
$49 at Sephora
Gucci Beauty Limited Edition Rouge À Lèvres Mat Lipstick in ‘505 Janet Rust’
Gucci Beauty sold 1 million tubes of lipstick in the first month it launched. Since then the brand's luxurious lippies have become a shining example that even when times are hard, we’ll always be willing to splash out some extra cash on a new lipstick. So why not update your makeup collection with some limited edition swag from Gucci’s holiday collection? This rusty red hue is a welcome grungey update on traditional holiday season reds.

M.A.C Cosmetics Powder Kiss Velvet Blur Slim Stick in ‘Merry Cherry’
M.A.C Cosmetics lipstick is a surefire classic at this point, but we love that the brand decided to add holiday-exclusive shades to one of their newer lipstick formulas. The slim stick is moisturising, bold and boasts a velvet matte finish to boot. Try the ‘Merry Cherry’ shade for a pop of colour this Christmas.
$51 at M.A.C Cosmetics
