The product

There’s nothing worse than looking in the mirror around midday to see your foundation has decided to pack its bags - and what’s worse, you’re now left with that annoying shine on your T-zone. Right when you thought you had your foundation game down pat.

Enter COVERGIRL truBLEND Matte Made Foundation. Not only does this gem control shine and blur pores, its formula is also non-drying, meaning you can finally score yourself a flawless, matte makeup look without the cakeyness.

And, it has a unique flexi-hold technology that creates a strong yet flexible film on the skin for durability and comfort (read: it won’t vanish after two seconds).

Our panel of Review Crew® members put this product to the test.

The panel

Beauty Crew sent COVERGIRL truBLEND Matte Made Foundation to a panel of women aged between 25 and 34 years old who are on the search for a foundation that perfectly matches their skin and delivers a flawless matte finish.

The lowdown

Here's what the Review Crew® loved about the long-lasting foundation:

How great the coverage was: Members were fans of the medium to full coverage this foundation gave, with some noting that a little product goes a long way. Even though it could be used for a full coverage look, our Review Crew® revealed that it was lightweight and didn’t look (or feel) too heavy throughout the day.

How long-wearing the formula was: Our testers were impressed with how long-lasting the formula was, with many commenting that it didn’t budge for over 12 hours. Some reviewers with oily skin also mentioned they didn’t need to touch-up their T-zone throughout the day, as their complexion remained completely shine-free.

How flawless it made their skin look: Review Crew® members noticed the foundation gave them a smooth, flawless and airbrushed appearance, without looking cakey. Many recommended this foundation for everyday wear.

Good to know: Although many found the scent to be quite subtle, some reviewers mentioned they weren’t fond of this foundation’s fragrance. This may not be for you if you are sensitive to fragranced formulas.

The verdict

“This is the only foundation that has managed to keep me completely oil-free all day, and I did not even use a powder to set it. It did not budge all day, even when worn for 12hrs+, and was completely transfer-proof. On the skin it feels lightweight and velvety smooth.”

“Not only does it look nice, it also feels great on the skin and doesn’t look caked. It gives a really great coverage and does not go oily or shiny. I sometimes mix it with a moisturiser to soften it a little bit also, for a minimum coverage look.”

“Really smooth to apply and provided great coverage which lasted all day. Doesn't feel heavy at all and didn't become oily throughout the day either. I also found that it was really easy to build this up for a heavier coverage if required as well.”
