This TikTok hack will have you blending your eyeshadow like a pro

A blessing from the beauty gods

We don’t know about you, but when it comes to blending eyeshadow, sometimes we just can’t seem to get our sh*t together.

Whether we’re in a rush out the door or the eyeshadow formula we’re using just doesn’t cut it – patchy eyeshadow is usually all that’s on the menu and we just have to live with it.

But no more.

Thanks to TikTok (AKA home of the humble beauty hack), we’re finally getting this blending thing down.

Tarte Cosmetics TikTok account boasts a wealth of handy makeup hacks, but it was their innovative eyeshadow application technique for an expertly blended finish that really caught our eye.

The technique in question? Well, it might sound too good to be true, but all it takes is applying a palette of eye shadow colours in vertical stripes across the lid. Simply focus darker shades on the outer corner and lighter colours towards the centre and inner corner of the lid to create a gradient effect.

Next, blend using light-handed sweeping motions with your favourite fluffy blending brush and you’re done.

Literally, that’s it.

Now we know what you’re thinking: Yes, that all seems easy enough when a makeup artist is doing it, but what about an unskilled individual such as myself?

Well, thankfully, the hack has fallen into the hands of TikTokers who, just like us, have issues perfecting their blend and honestly, the results are just as stunning.

TikToker and makeup hack guinea pig @prisciladerosa absolutely bodied the challenge with a bronzed smokey eye that she blended out in mere minutes. Iconic to say the least.

There is hope for us after all.
