Luminous eyeshadow and a poppy lippy? Sign us up
Summer: It’s synonymous with spending more time outside (three cheers for daylight savings!), shorter hemlines and bare shoulders, and even swapping our favourite drop for a crisp glass of rosé. As for our makeup, we’re reaching for luminous eyeshadows to complement our glowing skin, and a bright lip colour that screams laidback summer vibes. If you’re looking for a makeup look that’s effortless yet beautifully flattering, then this is it - follow these easy tips for a summer makeup look you’ll want to wear over and over again.
To get this look, we used the latest collection of beauty products from Sportsgirl. They’re uber affordable - you can overhaul your summer makeup kit for under $150, and they have a great colour payoff (especially the eyeshadows!).
Refresh your eyes
Pop a set of Sportsgirl Unmasked Rose Eye Mask Patches under your eyes to smooth the skin and de-puff your eye area. These eye masks will help you look more awake (so your eye makeup can stand out even more).
Try a brown smoky eye
For a slightly smoky eye makeup look - swap harsh charcoal hues for fresh brown tones - , first work a light beige eyeshadow from the Chocolate Tales Palette (it’s part of the Sportsgirl A Summer Story 3X Eye Palette Set) all over your eyelid using a small fluffy brush from the Sportsgirl Brush With Fame 10 Piece Set.
Add depth to your eye look
Then, using an angled brush for a more precise application, apply a dark brown eyeshadow shade along your top and lower lash line and at the outer corners of your eyes. Don’t forget to blend out the edges for a smouldering finish.
Contour, contour, contour
Warm up your complexion with the bronzer shade in the Chocolate Tales Palette Sweep the colour along the hollows of your cheeks with a large fluffy brush.
Add a pop of colour
Make your lips really stand out with Sportsgirl Fruit Tingle Lipstick (hot tip: to prevent feathering throughout the day, press your lips onto a tissue after applying to remove any excess). Yves Saint Laurent Beauté Rouge Pur Couture in Corail Legende is also another great summer shade to try.
