Celebrity makeup artist Rae Morris spills all
If there’s anyone we want to look like on our wedding day/any day of the week, Shanina Shaik is definitely up there. The good news? We may actually be in with a chance (to copy her bridal makeup look at least), because celebrity makeup artist Rae Morris just did us a solid.
Morris took to Instagram today to give us mere mortals a killer breakdown of the EXACT skin care and makeup routine she used to achieve Shanina’s stunning and very natural-looking wedding look.
For starters, Shanina’s complexion was actually next-level glowing so naturally we’re dying to know what kind of magic Morris worked on her skin pre-makeup. And it seems it’s actually pretty do-able.
Morris prepped Shanina’s skin with Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant (a gentle exfoliating powder) before applying the cult-favourite La Mer Créme de la Mer Moisturizing Cream. Next up, she primed Shanina’s skin with By Terry Brightening Cellularose Brightening Serum, before she “loaded her lips” with Mecca Cosmetica Lip De Luscious to soften them.
For that flawless complexion, Morris reached for MAC Cosmetics Studio Face and Body Foundation in shade C5, which she applied with her very own Rae Morris Makeup Radiance Brush in no. 25. She used Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer in shade SC4 under the eyes and for Shanina’s contour she said she used Tom Ford no.2, which we think is Tom Ford’s Shade and Illuminate in Intensity Two..
Shanina’s heavenly eye makeup look was courtesy of Danessa Myricks Waterproof Cream Essentials Palette, with a touch of Natasha Denona Chroma Crystal Top Coat Eye Primer in Bronze on the middle lid and inner corner of her eyes.
Morris then applied a stroke of MAC Cosmetics Extended Play Lash, which she said she chose to use “No false lashes to keep the light in her eyes”. Shanina opted for a natural eyeliner look, so Morris applied a “super fine outer liner” using Charlotte Tilbury’s Feline Flick Eyeliner Pen in Beige, which she applied with the Rae Morris Liner Brush in no. 14.
Before we wrap it all up, let’s just all appreciate Shanina’s amazing brows. Talk about #browgoals. For these gems, Morris used Troy Surratt Brow Pomade and “filled in the gaps only” with Le Sourcil Le Crayon Eyebrow Pencil in Grey.
To finish, Morris dusted her yet-to-be-released Invisible Mattifier Face Powder on Shanina’s T-zone, followed by Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Or Multi-Purpose Dry Golden Oil mixed with MAC Cosmetics Melon Pigment on her shoulders and highlight points for an added glow.
Yep, we’re definitely keeping this page under our ‘saved tabs’
