Here at BEAUTYcrew, we like to consider ourselves mascara aficionados.

We have a firm understanding of the best drugstore mascaras on offer, we’ve tried just about every tubing mascara we can get our hands on, and we’re always open to sampling any new mascaras that land on the lash-lengthening scene.

But as far as we’re concerned, there’s nothing more top-tier than a celebrity mascara recommendation.

With access to some of the makeup industry’s best in show, when one of our favourite celebs tells us to buy a mascara, it’s like getting the V.I.P makeup chair treatment ourselves.

We’ve hunted down six mascaras that celebrities actually use (and love) for you to try at home. You’re welcome.

Gemma Chan: Maybelline Falsies Volumizing False Lash Effect Waterproof Mascara

“I’m lucky I have long lashes, but they’re straight and they’re very fine, so the most important thing to me is to use lash curlers and then find a mascara that holds the curl,” Chan explained to Allure. “I use [Maybelline Falsies Volumizing False Lash Effect Waterproof Mascara] ($16.49 at Chemist Warehouse), the one in the purple tube. I use the waterproof version, so it really holds the curl.”

“Here’s my secret, though: I use the brush from an old Maybelline mascara, the Define-A-Lash formula. It works perfectly to separate and coat every single lash.”

Sydney Sweeney: Maybelline Great Lash Volumizing Mascara in ‘Brown Black’

When it comes to Sydney Sweeney’s lashes, the Euphoria actress amps up the drama using an old favourite: Maybelline Great Lash Volumizing Mascara in ‘Brown Black’ ($10 at Kmart).

“[It’s] a really cheap mascara,” Sweeney told The Cut. “It’s $5 [USD], and I have used it my entire life. I have sensitive eyes, and they tend to get really red with most mascaras, but not with this one. I go for the brownish-black color.”

Stella Maxwell: Pat McGrath Labs FetishEyes Mascara

According to her Vogue Beauty Secrets tutorial, Stella Maxwell is firmly in the ‘more is more’ camp when it comes to her favourite mascara – Pat McGrath Labs FetishEyes Mascara ($49 at Sephora).

“I like to do a couple layers of mascara, I think you can never have enough mascara. It’s about layering it and the clumps are kinda badass.”

Khloe Kardashian spilled her go-to lash formula in an episode of Vogue Beauty Secrets, saying Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Lashes ($59 at Sephora) was her ride or die come rain or shine.

“Lancôme, you did something there. This is the one thing I will not leave the house without. I go to the gym with mascara.”

Barbie Ferreira: Maybelline Great Lash Volumizing Waterproof Mascara in ‘Very Black’

If you thought that Barbie Ferreira was just going to deliver a regular mascara recommendation, then you better think again.

The Euphoria actress loves using a tube of Maybelline Great Lash Volumizing Waterproof Mascara in ‘Very Black’ ($10.99 at Chemist Warehouse), for another job entirely. “[I] put on good old mascara on the brow, and if I want a little less mascara, I have a clean spoolie and I brush them up [and] blend it out,” the actress and model explained to Allure.
