Wearing a bold-coloured gown was once a sure-fire way to stand out on the red carpet. Nowadays, celebrities are opting for bright makeup to steal the spotlight, and we’re all for it. Here are our favourite coloured makeup looks from the 76th Golden Globe Awards.
There was no doubt that the A Star Is Born actress was going to go for a glamorous makeup look at the Awards. This year, Lady Gaga went with groomed brows and nude lip gloss to let her lilac eyeshadow bring out her hazel eyes.
Emma Stone proves that wearing the same tone of eyeshadow, blush and lipstick can look pretty and polished at the same time. We’re seriously obsessed!
You can’t go wrong with the classic combination of a glowing complexion, lashings of black mascara and a blue-based red lipstick to make a statement.
Penelope Cruz can do no wrong on the red carpet. This year, she went with light and dark pink tones all over, including a dark rose eyeshadow, medium pink blush and a nude lipstick.
Disney actress Sofia Carson wore an orange-based red lipstick for the red carpet, and paired the look with a dusting of illuminator to accentuate her cheekbones and a beige-rose eyeshadow for depth.
Could coloured mascara be making a comeback? Lupita Nyong’o stood out from the crowd this year with layers and layers of blue mascara, and a medium pink lippie to finish.
To offset the colour of her emerald earrings, Irish and American actress Saoirse Ronan went with a coral lipstick and a matching eyeshadow on her peepers.
