Gracie Abrams didn’t wear foundation to the Grammys and her skin has never looked glossier
Wondering what Gracie Abrams would say to foundation? “I love you, I’m sorry” sounds about right considering she skipped a full face of the stuff for the 2025 Grammy Awards.
Abrams’ makeup artist extraordinaire Emily Cheng took to Instagram to share a stunning snap of the singer’s glam look and the product breakdown she revealed is free of any heavier base formulas, with skin tint and concealer responsible for the seamless skin look instead. Interesting!
So now that we know what she didn’t wear, let’s get into what she did…
Gracie Abrams' makeup
Base
First up? The Hourglass Veil Hydrating Skin Tint ($81 at MECCA). See? No foundation here! Billed by the brand as a “lightweight skin tint that instantly boosts skin’s moisture levels”, it’s no wonder Abrams’ face was as beautifully dewy as it was. For skin touch-ups, Cheng wielded two concealer wands, using varying shades of the Vanish Airbrush Concealers: ‘Apricot’ and ‘Creme’ ($60 each at MECCA). And to lock in the lightweight base? A dusting of Vanish Airbrush Pressed Powder in ‘Light’ ($90 at MECCA) came in handy, setting the liquid products without adding heaviness.

Eyes
As for eyes, Cheng applied a quartet of rich neutral shadow shades, opting for the Curator Eyeshadow in ‘Coy’, ‘Mod’, ‘Ace’ and ‘Arc’ ($48 each at MECCA). Chocolate, charcoal, cream, and mocha colours tied together beautifully to create the hazy definition, enhanced further by the Voyeur Waterproof Gel Eyeliner in ‘Canyon’ ($46 at MECCA) traced across Abrams' lash lines.

Brows
Abrams’ arches clearly don’t need much help when it comes to looking stunning, but everyone’s brows can benefit from a 'brush up and fill' in approach. Cheng added colour and definition with the Hourglass Arch Brow Micro Pencil in ‘Dark Brunette’ ($48 at MECCA), before sealing with a coat of Arch Brow Fiber Gel in ‘Dark Brunette’ ($48 at MECCA).

Lips
In the case of an event like the Grammys (where the festivities run from the red carpet all the way to the after parties), longevity is a key player when choosing a lip colour. Cheng opted for a primer-infused lipstick with a soft matte finish, layering the Unlocked Soft Matte Lipstick in ‘Sparrow’, a pretty peachy nude over the Shape and Sculpt Lip Liner in both ‘Candid’ and ‘Uncover’ ($48 at MECCA).

The look may be natural (very natural, considering the no foundation), but natural has never looked better – Abrams was glowing and her look didn’t falter all night. The pro of using premium makeup!
