Gucci’s Cruise 2020 show just served some of the most eclectic beauty looks we’ve seen yet

We’re mesmerised

Gucci’s Cruise 2020 show has wrapped up and in its wake it has left us with some of the most remarkable beauty inspiration we’ve seen yet.

The show was staged at Rome’s Musei Capitolini and featured strong political overtones advocating for women’s reproductive rights. As such, it was only fitting that this message of rebellion extended to the hair and makeup.

And the beauty looks on show were breathtaking.

Bespoke was the word of the hour and each individual model was adorned with a personalised look.

Traits of past decades and subcultures tumbled into one another, forming new beauty mash-ups unlike anything we’ve witnessed before.

An unmistakable ‘70s flavour was carried throughout the show, seeing models glide down the runway with ethereal bohemian locks topped with braided headbands, shag haircuts, and oversized spectacles.

A defiant grunge element was also present; models’ faces and necks were emblazoned with faux tattoos and a very-Gucci serpentine motif, as well as eyes lined with heavy black or pink kohl. And then there was one of our favourite parts: a heavily glittered red lip that we cannot wait to recreate.

Continuing the theme of old melded with new were heavy ornate hair accessories and jewellery that almost looked like they could have been borrowed from any one of Rome’s historical museums.

It was an eclectic mix but we are completely mesmerised.
