Hailee Steinfeld's Golden Globes makeup was a nod to 'Sinners'
The 2026 Golden Globe Awards really delivered on the hair front. From Jessie Buckley and Emma Stone's red carpet-worthy bobs, to Brittany Snow and Leighton Meester's modernised updos, there was mood board inspiration everywhere.
But the makeup looks weren't lacking either, Nina Park's influence was felt, and this Dior foundation was a clear standout of the evening, making it into the kits of Jennifer Lawrence, Jenna Ortega and Mia Goth.
And Sinners star Hailee Steinfeld debuted her baby bump, and a monochromatic makeup look that drew inspiration from her character in the film.
Ahead, BEAUTYcrew breaks down what went into creating Steinfeld's red carpet glow...
"What really makes this look a moment is when a team comes together and works as a team, so we're always on a group chat talking amongst ourselves, just to see what's the nails, what is the hair, what is the sketch of the dress, so we can all work together and really bring this look to life," says Ash K Holm, Steinfeld's makeup artist.
"She was wearing a beautiful Prada gown that was quite peachy, so I knew that I wanted this look to be monochromatic," Holm explains. "The hair was a '30s, '40s, kind of modernised Hollywood glam wave that was also a nod to her hair in Sinners — so I knew that I wanted this to be fresh, keeping the makeup feeling modern to go with the hair as well."
The makeup break down
"The eyes, the lips and the cheeks are all in the same colour story, so that's what makes this makeup monochromatic. I also buffed the eye shadow in the outer corner into the blush in a very light peachy tone, and that's what brings this kind of harmony together and gives a perfect blend from the eyes into the blush," Holm explains.
"It's also softly sculpted, because it photographs amazing on a red carpet, so I brought the contour higher than I normally would, as well as the blush," she continued. "Sometimes we do a more sun-kissed blush on Hailee, but I thought this sculpted blush would be beautiful for this look."
"A non-negotiable for me is cream blush on a red carpet, I just think this adds the most beautiful glow back into the skin," she shares. "So every time she would turn to the side on the red carpet the light would bounce off of her cheeks, creating this red carpet glow."
"For eyeliner, I just did an outer corner wing liner, because you can never go wrong with a little wing on the red carpet. I just think this softly defines the eyes, and then I went with a wispy, individual lash look on the outer corner of her eyes as well," says Holm.
