You heard it here first

Guys, hemp seed oil has crept its way onto the beauty scene and it’s quickly shaping up to be one of 2019’s biggest skin care trends.
If you haven’t really heard of hemp oil skin care, you’re probably confused as to why this ingredient has made its way into your beloved skin care products. But there’s actually a good reason behind it. You see, hemp oil offers a whole TON of benefits for your skin.
Hemp seed oil is created by pressing the hemp plant or hemp seeds and infusing them into skin care products (in case you’re wondering, hemp seed oil does not contain anything more than trace amounts of cannabinoids, so you’re not going to get high off your moisturiser, girl). Hemp seed oil is loaded with healthy fatty acids like omega 3, omega 6 and polyunsaturated fatty acids, making it a powerful antioxidant. It works to improve the appearance and texture of your skin, and what’s more, it works wonders on dry skin and inflammation.
And with more and more research going into the skin-perfecting benefits of hemp seed oil, you can expect to see a whole lot more hemp seed oil-infused beauty products finding their way into your beauty routine.
So, whether you love a good serum or are all about a stellar moisturiser, we’ve pulled together a few of our favourite hemp seed oil skin care products to help you stay ahead of the trend (‘cause we’re cool like that).
Redwin Sensitive Skin Hemp Body Moisturiser
Made with 100 per cent pure cold pressed hemp seed oil, Redwin Sensitive Skin Hemp Body Moisturiser is an all-over body moisturiser and your perfect winter companion. It works to nourish, renew and hydrate dry skin, plus it’s light and easily absorbed so you won’t have to worry about that annoying greasy feeling. Also worth noting is it’s certified vegan and free from all nasties. Good one, guys.
Andalou Naturals CannaCell Beauty Oil
Glowing skin this way, please! Suitable for all skin types (yep - even the most sensitive), Andalou Naturals CannaCell Beauty Oil is formulated with organic hemp seed oil and pure botanical oils to give skin a radiant, healthy glow. It’s a bit of a multitasker, too - it’s not just great for the face and neck, it can also be used to target niggling dry spots on your elbows, hands and nails.
The Body Shop Hemp Heavy-Duty Face Protector
If you suffer from *super* dry skin (especially in the winter), this one is for you. The Body Shop Hemp Heavy-Duty Face Protector intensely hydrates and brings instant relief to dry patches, and will help protect your skin from extreme weather conditions (we’re looking at you, wind). It can be super confusing to know what to do with your skin when it gets flaky, dry and irritated, but this guy will help you get it back on track.
Herbivore Botanicals Emerald Glow Oil
Not only is the packaging totally Insta-worthy, but this Herbivore Botanicals Emerald Glow Oil is a serious skin saviour. It boasts a calming and seriously hydrating dose of omega-rich hemp seed oil, which helps moisturise the complexion, soothe redness and irritation, and prevent the signs of ageing.
Dollar Hippy Club Miracle Oil
From eczema and psoriasis to acne and ‘normal skin’, Dollar Hippy Club Miracle Oil is a multipurpose healing oil that’s good for any skin type. Hailing from Byron Bay, this little gem is made with hemp seed oil (as well as jasmine and rosemary essential oils), and is chemical-free, palm oil-free, cruelty-free and 100 per cent vegan.
Cedar + Stone Hemp + Rose Foaming Cleanser
Up your cleansing game with this hardworking yet gentle Cedar + Stone Hemp + Rose Foaming Cleanser (side note: how awesome is the packaging?!). This is another Aussie goodie that’s rich in omegas and vitamins. It works to hydrate and protect the skin while leaving it feeling smooth and squeaky clean, but not tight or dry.
