If you’ve been watching the latest season of The Kardashians, then you know Khloé Kardashian has been having a rough time as of late.

But as it turns out, the reality star hasn’t just been dealing with a cheating ex, she’s also been hiding a personal health battle the last few months.

The Good American founder revealed via Instagram yesterday that she recently had a tumour removed from her face, following online speculation regarding face bandages she’d been wearing in public.

The Kardashians star noticed a small bump on her face and shrugged it off thinking it was a pimple, however, she “decided to get it biopsied seven months after realising it was not budging.”

Kardashian had her dermatologist Dr Tess Mauricio and Dr Daniel Behroozan run two biopsies. The results of the biopsies revealed that the 38-year-old had a tumour – something her doctors informed her was incredibly rare for someone of her age.

She then enlisted the help of surgeon Dr Garth Fischer, “a dear friend of my family and one of the best surgeons in Beverly Hills,” to help remove the tumour.

Kardashian reassured her fans that Dr Fischer was able to remove everything; “all my margins appear clear and we are onto the healing process.”

“You’ll continue to see my bandages,” she went on to say. “When I’m allowed, you’ll probably see a scar (and an indention in my cheek from the tumour being removed).”

“Until then, I hope you enjoy how fabulous I’m making these bandages look,” she joked.

In another post, the reality star admitted the only reason she was sharing the ordeal was to encourage people to frequently get skin checks, as a person predisposed to melanomas herself.

“At 19 years old I had melanoma on my back and I had a surgery to remove that as well,” she explained. “We should be getting checked all the time.”

“I am someone who wears sunscreen every single day religiously… no one is exempt. Please take this seriously,” she begged her fans.

Kardashian expressed her profound gratitude to her team of doctors, as well as her makeup artist Ash Kholm, for taking the challenge of concealing her bandages like a champ; “[she’s] been killing the makeup game.”

“Thank you to my amazing doctors,” she gushed. “ I trust you with everything and I’m so grateful we caught this early.

“I was lucky… all I have is a scar,” she went on to say. “Most people aren’t as lucky as me and I am forever thankful and grateful.”

“Everyone is fighting a battle we know nothing about. Try not to judge and be kind.”

Khloé Kardashian’s not the only celebrity who’s been open about their health struggles. Balmain Beauty’s creative director Olivier Rousteing’s burn scars inspired him to venture into the world of makeup and skin care.
