This powerful serum could be the answer to your pigmentation prayers

La Roche-Posay Pigmentclar Serum Reviews

Here’s what our Review Crew® had to say about this French pharmacy formula

Beauty Crew Digital Content Editor / April 01 2019

Pigmentation is one of those skin issues that we don’t tend to worry about… until BAM - it hits. Prevention is so much better than having to treat pigmentation once it’s already visible, but even if you’re diligent with your sunscreen (sun exposure is one of the most common causes of unwanted pigmentation), it’s hard to combat pigmentation-causing changes in your hormones or a genetic predisposition to the condition.

If you’ve started noticing sun spots, dark spots or age spots, you’ll want to reach for something that will give you results, quick smart.

The powerful Pigmentclar Serum from cult French pharmacy brand La Roche-Posay has been recommended by over 25,000 dermatologists worldwide and is designed to fade pigmentation.

This is all thanks to its highly-effective formula that includes concentrated LHA (a derivative of salicylic acid) to gently exfoliate and unify the skin. Meanwhile, its anti-dark spot complex contains an impressive line-up of ingredients including PhE-Resorcinol, ginkgo and ferulic acid to significantly reduce dark spots and pigment irregularities. Yep, this bad boy doesn’t muck around.

The best news? Results may start to be seen in as little as two weeks, and the serum’s efficacy continues for three weeks after stopping use.

And for bonus points, it even helps to minimise pores!

Our panel of Review Crew® testers put this product to the test.

The panel

Beauty Crew sent La Roche-Posay Pigmentclar Serum, as well as La Roche-Posay Toleriane Pigmentclar Eyes, to a panel of women aged between 25 and 55 with skin pigmentation that’s been caused by sun exposure, or a hormonal or genetic predisposition.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about La Roche-Posay Pigmentclar Serum.

How the serum left their skin looking: The review team trialed the product over a four-week period and were pleased to report that they noticed their pigmentation was gradually fading and that their skin tone looked brighter overall.

How nourishing the serum was: Members commented on how well-hydrated and soft their skin felt after using the serum, with some even noting that they didn’t need to use moisturiser on top.

The clever packaging: Members loved the luxe-looking packaging and found that the pump applicator dispensed the ideal amount for one application while keeping the product hygienically contained.

The verdict

“I love this product. It’s incredibly lightweight and fast absorbing. Left my skin feeling plump and hydrated without any stickiness. I noticed a dramatic reduction in both pigmentation and fine lines. As a new mum, I was looking worse for wear until trying this and now I look so much more fresh - even without makeup.”

“I have been using this product for about a month now. I have found it is fast-absorbing, light and quite hydrating. I have some pigmentation on my cheek and this has definitely helped clear it up. I was worried about using this as I am prone to breakouts, but have had no negative side effects.”

“La Roche-Posay Pigmentclar Serum was a delight to use; great packaging to take on holidays, dispensed just the right amount and it works! My 50-plus skin definitely has pigmentation variations and after three weeks I felt that my skin tone was more even and this was confirmed with a comment from a friend about how my skin was glowing. Brilliant results for me. In combination with the Pigmentclar Eyes, I ended up with a much healthier-looking complexion.”
