'Outer Banks' is the biggest blessing to ever happen to Madison Bailey's skin

Kiara is one glowy gold-hunter

Madison Bailey... has the kind of skin that even looks good covered in sweat and dirt while she's hiding in a shipping container. Outer Banks fans, you know exactly the scene we mean.

The actress, who stars in the show as Kiara Carrera, is quick to admit that beauty is in fact a major player in her life, especially considering what she does for a living. “[Beauty] plays a very important role, because I'm always on-camera. That's my whole job, and it's important to feel comfortable in front of the camera,” Bailey shared in a chat with Nylon.

Luckily, she was blessed by the skin type lords, and doesn't have any major skin issues she needs to combat in order to feel confident. “I don’t have super sensitive skin – I can kind of throw whatever on my face, so I change my products out frequently because I find things that I want to try," she added of her go-to repertoire. We’ll be sure to keep our ears to the ground for any routine updates, but for now, here are a few of her faves..

Madison Bailey’s skin care routine

“[One product] I’ve been using since I’ve been wearing makeup, since I was 14 [are the] Neutrogena Makeup Remover [Wipes] ($7.49 at Chemist Warehouse)," Bailey revealed in a Harper's BAZAAR video. "I swear by these makeup remover wipes because they just get everything off and I only have to use one."

Once she's removed her makeup, she goes in with a face scrub and an exfoliating brush to get her face feeling extra fresh. "I’m currently on the Burt’s Bees Peach & Willow Bark [Scrub] ($33.95 at Cosmetics MegaStore)," she shared. "I use it with my Tarte [Sugar Rush Star Factor Cleansing] Face Brush ($21 at Tarte); one side’s a brush and one side’s an exfoliating shindig." Fancy!

A few of Bailey’s treatment faves hail from Fenty Skin – fitting considering she’s a brand ambassador and the formulas are phenomenal. “The Fenty Skin Fat Water [Hydrating Milky Water Toner Essence] ($45 at Sephora) [is] my toning/serum step,” she shared in a Fenty Skin video. “I just do a couple [of] drops and pat into my skin. This step’s going to make my pores look a little smaller and help me control my shine throughout the day."

"[Next] I moisturise using the [Fenty Beauty] Hydra Visor [Invisible Broad Spectrum SPF15 Sunscreen Moisturiser] ($53 at Sephora)," she added. "This product is actually an SPF and moisturiser in one. It feels really, really soft and it smells amazing. My skin is immediately so glowy and I look so hydrated.”

Her final step? A facial massage with her trusty rose quartz roller! "Anybody who knows me knows I love my crystals so after a long day, I love to use my [Herbivore] rose quartz [roller]," she explained. "It’s my self-love at the end of any given day. It makes me be nice to myself."

Madison Bailey’s ‘Outer Banks’ makeup

Another one of Bailey’s skin secrets? The fact that she spends a big chunk of the year shooting practically makeup-free. “I don't really wear makeup on Outer Banks too much. I wear a little concealer where I need it, and clear brow gel, and that's seriously it. I don't wear anything on my eyes, and I wear chapstick on my lips, so my skin gets a solid five months to breathe completely.”

She tends to stay bare-faced between shoot days, too. “Typically, on the weekends, I'm regaining my energy and resting, so I'm not doing my makeup too much. This is the half of the year where I wear the least amount of makeup.” Well that seals it – our faces are living the Pogue live wherever possible from now on.
