The best magnetic lashes for anyone who sucks at applying false eyelashes
Glue-free and life-changing
Beauty Crew Contributing Editor / September 14 2019
False lashes can be fiddly. Sure, with a little practice you’ll eventually be able to apply them with your eyes closed - literally - but until you reach that stage, they can be a total pain. And when the end result is neither straight nor long-lasting for beginners, it hardly seems worth the effort.
Other than using your Friday nights in to practice (no thanks!), you’re probably tempted to give up on falsies altogether. But we urge you to give them one last chance. This time, however, reach for magnetic false eyelashes. Because they are a whole lot easier.
So how do magnetic eyelashes work? Generally, there are two strips of lashes (per eye) that have magnets in the strips. You put one on either side of your lashes and the magnetic force secures them in place. No glue needed. And it’s easier and mess-free to start over if you didn’t get the position just right. They stay put, too.
The fact that they require no glue means they’re great for those with sensitive eyes.
Keen to give them a crack? Check out these magnetic eyelashes reviews to help you find your perfect match.
#6 / MCoBeauty Magnetic False Eyelashes Half Set
Pop these into your cart the next time you’re doing your grocery shopping at Woolworths. Also available in a full strip version, these magnetic lashes will give you fuller, longer lashes.
Best for: Length and volume
The review: “I couldn't get the full set to work on my eyes but the half set work great, I love them. I have hooded lids and small eyes so I knew I may have issues with the full set. I'm really pleased with the half set, I'm going to buy more.” HypeQueen, MCoBeauty customer
#5 / Manicare Glam by Manicare Magnetic Lashes - Khloe
These lashes are a little different. They’re designed to be used with Manicare’s magnetic eyeliner. First you apply the eyeliner across your lash line (make it a relatively thick line). The magnetised false lash strip adheres to the eyeliner, so you only apply one strip of lashes, rather than sandwiching two together.
Best for: Multidimensional, glam eyes
The review: “Easy to apply, lightweight and overall an amazing product. The length was unreal and blended well with my real lashes.100% recommend these lashes.” Nikitab12, Manicare customer
#4 / Eylure Luxe Magnetic Baroque Corner Lashes
These magnetic lashes are for just the outer corners of your eyes (top and bottom), which makes them more user-friendly for all eye shapes. These faux mink eyelashes are latex-free and they come with a lash applicator.
Best for: Creating fluffy lashes
The review: “I really love using these smaller magnetic lashes because they add a really nice fluttery look to your lashes without the hassle of applying a whole fake lash to your eye. I personally struggle with the inner corner lifting when I use traditional false lashes a lot so these eliminate that problem for me. I have tried other magnetic lashes like these and these are by far my favorite. They blend with your natural lashes so well and really enhance your look.” Emily, Ulta customer
#3 / One Two Lash Magnetic Lashes - Natural Half Lash
These cruelty-free synthetic eyelashes are best-sellers around the world (they’re a US company but ship to Australia). Cut into two halves for more versatility, this magnetised case comes with two pairs of lashes and a free One Two applicator. You can choose from three variations: Original Lash for volume and length; Accent Lash for a natural-looking dose of fullness and added length; and Bold Lash for a dramatic, extra full flutter.
Best for: A natural look
The review: “I love these lashes. It took me about 3 times, 15 minutes each, of practice to get the application perfected and now I can put them on in a couple of minutes. I have long, straight lashes and these add volume and curl that feels natural with a little oomph. I like to wear mascara on the inner area of my lashes. Mine have lasted for months with a few wears per week.” Shansmc, Sephora US customer
#2 / Ardell Magnetic Lash - Double Wispies
Ardell are famous for their Wispies and Demi lashes and now you can get them in a magnetic version. Made with 100 per cent human hair, they create a natural, wispy look and Ardell have the best range of magnetic lash designs, including Double Wispies, Double Demi Wispies, and Accents 001, Accents 002 and Accents 003.
Best for: Natural, wide-open lashes
The review: “Such an amazing product, have gone back time and time again! Don't let the magnets scare you, they're so easy to work with, can be fixed during the night, so lightweight, no glue so doesn't mess with your makeup at all and they look amazing on.” Ricki-lee, Beautopia customer
