Healthy nails start with healthy hands

Celebrity manicurist Betina Goldstein has polished the hands of some of Hollywood’s biggest names. Her star-studded clientele includes the likes of Zoë Kravitz, Jennifer Lopez, Lily James, Julia Garner and Margot Robbie. Suffice to say, she knows what she’s doing when it comes to hands and nails.

So when she dishes out hand care advice, we’re taking notes. Let’s face it, when our hands face so much rough and tumble on the daily, a little pampering is the least we can do (and, no, hand cream doesn’t cut it). Fingers crossed we can achieve Margot Robbie-level hands…

1. Exfoliate

2. Oil cuticles

To restore nourishment to the cuticles, Goldstein takes her tried and trusted 100% vitamin E oil from Rejuve Naturals ($24.97 at Amazon) and massages it in gently to ensure it soaks into the nail bed.

3. Moisturise

The nail artist keeps it bougie with her choice of hand cream, the Chanel La Créme Main ($87 at Myer). Of course, if you choose to follow this routine, you can substitute with your go-to cream. Check out our compilation of our favourite hand creams for a little extra inspo.

4. Apply nail strengthener

To fortify the nails, Goldstein likes to apply a nail strengthener as an extra protective barrier. Her strengthener of choice? The CND Strengthener RXx ($34.95 at Le Beauty), which is siad to enhance nail strength over 14 days.

5. Mist

Honing in on the spa-like ambience, Goldstein tops off her hand care routine with a few spritzes of the Caudalie Beauty Elixir ($76 at Sephora) to the backs of her hands. It’s no wonder Zoë Kravitz’s nails seem to sparkle that bit extra on the carpet…
