From award nights that celebrate achievements in film and music to after-parties that usually involve a hair and makeup change, the red carpet is never short of providing beauty inspiration. And what a year it has been! We’ve been keeping our eyes peeled all year for beauty looks that made our jaws drop and have decided to pull together the ones that we think are the best of the best. Read on to find out our absolute favourites and how to get the looks yourself.
Beauty icon: Gwen Stefani
Gwen Stefani is one of our favourite beauty icons as she’s never afraid to experiment with colour on the red carpet. Plus, nobody can pull off a bold red lip look like she can. Achieve her classic makeup by choosing Revlon Super Lustrous™ Lipstick in Love That Red, and pair it with lashings of mascara to define your peepers.
Beauty icon: Ciara
Beauty icon: Allison Williams
Allison Williams has truly blossomed since starring in the hit series Girls, and her beautiful bone structure is one of the reasons why she’s a beauty icon in our eyes. This is one of our favourite looks of the year from Allison as it’s gorgeously neutral and allows her features to shine. Give it a go yourself with Revlon Super Lustrous™ Lipstick in Bare Affair, and colour match a blush to your lippie to add warmth on your cheeks and eyelids.
Beauty icon: Sarah Hyland
Sarah Hyland sure knows how to make a statement wherever she goes, and we’re lusting over her matching purple gown, eyeshadow and lipstick in this picture. Turn heads by experimenting with a bold colour (Revlon Super Lustrous™ Lipstick in Va Va Violet will do the trick), and follow suit with a shimmery purple eyeshadow all over to make your eyes pop.
Beauty icon: Shay Mitchell
We’re truly obsessed with Shay Mitchell as she always looks flawless, no matter whether she’s attending an awards night or living it up on Instagram. If you love having radiant skin, go for this look that consists of shimmery eyeshadow, a glossy complexion (Yves Saint Laurent Beauté Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation will be perfect for this) and a slick of Revlon Super Lustrous™ Lipstick in Gold Goddess, which can add a complementary gleam to lips.
Beauty icon: Selena Gomez
We’ve been huge fans of Selena Gomez since her Disney days, and her Instagram account is always a source of beauty inspiration. If you’re looking to experiment with a dark shade, go with Revlon Super Lustrous™ Lipstick in Naughty Plum, which is equal parts pretty and powerful. Top tip: As darker shades like this can show dry lips easily, make sure you prep yours with a nourishing balm first, such as with Aerin Rose Lip Conditioner.
Beauty icon: Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba needs no introduction, and we’re constantly in awe of her sunny personality on camera, impeccable outfit choices and pretty beauty looks that are always age-appropriate. We also can’t get enough of this medium-pink lip colour, which can be achieved with Revlon Super Lustrous™ Lipstick in Rosedew.
Beauty icon: Kate Upton
From her stunning blue eyes to her flawless complexion, Kate Upton never fails to impress on the red carpet. We also can’t go past this deep berry hue on her smackers, which is really similar to Revlon Super Lustrous™ Lipstick in Bombshell Red. Don’t forget to balance out the rest of your features by grooming your brows with a tinted brow gel (like with Lancôme Sourcils Styler) and adding a pop of colour to cheeks with a peachy blush.
If you're looking to switch up your makeup, try these bold colours that are on-trend this season.
