With just over two months to go until Christmas (can you tell we’re excited?!), it’s time to start drawing up wish lists and thinking about what to gift your loved ones. Don’t know where to start? Here are the latest beauty products launching this month that have caught our eye.
By Terry Birthday Kit Eye Designer Palette Parti-Pris
You know it’s a big deal when the likes of Too Faced, NARS and Stila all get on board to launch limited edition products to celebrate a milestone, and this month we’re partying it up with Mecca for their 20th anniversary. Our favourite by far from the collection is this By Terry palette, which shows off five shimmery shades that range from pale lilac to punchy berry, which you can use to create a summery smoky eye or swirl together for a pop of colour on your cheeks. The options are limitless. Happy birthday, Mecca!
Bottega Veneta Eau de Velours EDP
Nothing gets us more excited than a new spritz, and Bottega Veneta Eau de Velours has seriously got our heart palpitating. Those that love warm and spicy scents will have to add this one to their shopping lists as the sensual layers of rose, bergamot, pink peppercorn, leather and patchouli work in perfect harmony.
Lady Jayne Ceramic Radial Brush
The last round of fashion week shows saw a slight movement away from dishevelled textured hair in favour of a polished blow-dry, and a round brush like this one from Lady Jayne is key to mastering the on-trend look. Jonathan Colombini, who is a celebrity hairstylist for the likes of Kendall and Kylie Jenner, is a big fan of this tool. “The ceramic copper barrel acts as a heat conductor, so it works like a curling iron when you wrap the hair around it,” he explains. “My tip is to make sure you hit the cool setting on your hairdryer to set your look.”
Sisley Paris Phyto-Sourcils Fix
Want something that’ll keep your arches in their best form all day long? Sisley’s Phyto-Sourcils Fix, which is a tinted brow gel, can do just that. Top tip: it’s best to go easy with this product. “Just be careful when you first use it as the wand picks up quite a bit of the gel, so it's easy to go too hard, too fast,” says our editor Carli Alman.
Kiehl’s x Matthew McConaughey Limited Edition Ultra Facial Cream
The latest philanthropic project that Kiehl’s has launched supports Autism Speaks, a charity whose top priority is to increase awareness and understanding for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions. Matthew McConaughey, who is a partner of this campaign, explains more about this project in detail: “My goal for this campaign is to raise awareness and increase understanding for the children and families affected by autism. They are an underserved community and in need of our support. The more people who know about autism, the more we’re able to help these children and families.” Sounds like the perfect excuse to us to stock up on this cult cream.
Dermalogica PreCleanse Balm
The art of double cleansing has been perfected with Dermalogica’s new PreCleanse Balm, a balm to oil formula that’s enriched with nourishing ingredients like apricot kernel oil to keep skin supple. Bonus points go to its hardworking formula that can remove almost any hard-to-budge makeup, including long-wear foundation, waterproof mascara and even hair removal wax. We’re sold.
Hair Recipe Strawberry & Mint Cleanse Shampoo
Can’t go without washing your hair for a day or two? It could be the result of an overload of styling products on your scalp, like dry shampoo or hairspray. One way to nix this issue is with a detoxifying product, like this one from Hair Recipe, which can get rid of stubborn product build-up without being too harsh on skin. We also can’t get enough of its sweet, fruity and mojito-like scent.
Philosophy Renewed Hope In a Jar Microrenewal Hydrating Mist
Whether you like it or not, your skin is constantly losing hydration throughout the day, and that’s regardless of sitting in air-conditioning or staying outdoors. The fix? Besides drinking water, keep a bottle of face mist, like this one from Philosophy, nearby to refresh and re-energise with ease. Psst, this one's limited edition, so grab yours before they sell out.
Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart Sonic Electric Toothbrush with App
The world of oral hygiene has been pushed to new boundaries with Philips’ latest launch, which can polish teeth and massage gums with its five modes. However the most redeeming feature is its ability to tell you if you’re brushing too hard or you’ve missed certain areas in the mouth via an app that you download to your phone. Talk about brushing up on your skills.
Tom Ford Private Blend Oud Minérale EDP
With summer on the horizon, it’s time to switch up your fragrance wardrobe with something that evokes warmer weather and outside adventures. Tom Ford Private Blend Oud Minérale EDP is an interesting mix of salty seaweed (a nod to the ocean), spicy pink peppercorn, heady oud and grounding ambergris, and is suitable for both sexes to wear.
Fudge Clean Blonde Violet Tri-Blo
Besides using a purple shampoo or purple conditioner, it’s now possible to tame brassiness in blonde hair with an all-over spritz. Loaded with tiny purple pigments, Fudge Clean Blonde Violet Tri-Blo is a toning spray that can brighten blonde hair, boost shine and even protect it from up to 235°C of heat damage.
Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Foaming Pads
A guilty pleasure that we share in the office is a chemical peel, and these peel pads from Nip + Fab take the cake for most innovative. Not only are they loaded with glycolic acid to lift away dead skin and impurities, they’re also formulated with witch hazel to address pore size and hyaluronic acid to keep skin moisturised, and foams up upon contact with skin - so you know it’s working. Use daily to refresh your complexion in an instant.
So you’ve got your face care routine like cleansing, exfoliating and moisturising down pat, but how about a skin care regimen for the delicate area right underneath - i.e. your neck? Address loose skin around your jawline and neck with Freezeframe’s highly-anticipated V-Lift, a gel that you massage into your skin daily to help produce tightening results in just under a month.
