Pinterest and it's unique wealth of 'what people have been pinning to their inspo mood boards' data has already informed makeup and nail trends of 2026. As well as revealing the biggest beauty trend of the year — scent stacking.

But now the inspiration search engine is redefining our palettes for the next 12 months ahead with a selection of shades that are set to influence our eye shadow, lip colours, nails, and hair too.

According to Pinterest, searches for cool blue are up by 85 per cent and shade is set to influence everything from your eye shadow to your next manicure — searches for icy blue chrome nails are up by 235 per cent.

"After years of bland beige and nesting neutrals, people are ready for something sharp and refreshing. Cool Blue acts as a reset button — a clean, icy wash of colour that makes everything feel a little clearer."

With searches for dark plum up by 220 per cent, deep burgundy by 230 per cent, and dark plum purple hair up by 80 per cent it's clear that 2026 is going to rich with deeper shades.
