While we do enjoy a comprehensive eyeshadow palette or a lipstick in an eye-catching shade, the thing that seriously gets the office talking is a beautiful face palette. We’re constantly in awe of the workmanship and the attention to detail in every pressed compact; they’re so beautiful it’s almost like they’re tiny artworks that are too delicate to use. We’ve rounded up eight of the most stunning palettes to hit the market this month - add to cart immediately, and use if you have the heart to do so.
Giorgio Armani Sunset Palette
This Giorgio Armani Sunset Palette is something we’re seriously coveting, and it’s obvious why. Inside you’ll see a beautiful blend of pink, pearl and bronze shades pressed together in a wave pattern that’s almost too precious to use, along with a daring navy green colour for the eyes. Now, while it’s technically an eyeshadow palette, we still think the lighter shades work amazingly as a highlighter on cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose and on the Cupid’s bow.
Burberry First Love Blush Highlighter
It may not be Valentine’s Day any more, but that hasn’t stopped us from falling head over heels for Burberry’s new limited edition heart-adorned blush. Featuring a lighter petal pink shade as well as hearts in a darker pink shade, this compact can also double as an eyeshadow palette - perfect for those that prefer rosy tones on their eyes.
Dior Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Powder in 004
If you’re looking to dial up the radiance of your skin instantly, you’ve come to the right place. The new Dior compacts feature a finely-milled powder that is seriously sparkly, and not for the faint-hearted. Our pick is the 004 shade that works surprisingly well for fair to dark skin tones.
Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder in Santa Barbara
Another compact that we’ve got our eye on is Bobbi Brown’s Illuminating Bronzing Powder; a beautiful blend of pink, coral and tiny gold flecks pressed into a round compact. Sweep the colour straight over cheekbones with a fluffy brush for a gorgeous flush of colour. Available June 2017.
Givenchy Les Saison Poudre Powder
Based on Givenchy’s Gypsophila Collection (which is more commonly known as baby’s breath), this stunning palette shows off raised flowers in an oversized bronzer compact. While the colour is more on the subtle side of the spectrum, we think it works best as a finishing powder for medium skin tones or a bronzer for light skin tones… if you can bear to swirl your brush over the pretty floral motifs, that is.
Shiseido 7 Lights Powder Illuminator
This is one pretty compact that we can’t get enough of. The seven tones of lilac, beige, yellow and pearly white may seem like an odd choice to wear on your face, but they work incredibly well muddled together to provide a lit-from-within glow.
MAC Pearlmatte Face Powder Mrs. Min
Designed in collaboration with Chinese fashion designer Min Liu of Mrs. Min, this ornate compact shows off red, pink and white tones that may look scarily bold when used individually, but are very wearable when swirled together.
Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Illuminating Powder Gelée
Give lacklustre skin a boost with Estée Lauder’s limited edition compact that glimmers with metallic bits of sparkle. What we love most about this palette is the innovative gel to powder formula that glides straight onto skin and is a cinch to use - even with fingers (so you can forgo the need to bring a face brush).
