Great foundation! If you have super sensitive skin, beware as it contains alcohol and perfume. I did not have any reaction or drying on the skin. Even though my skin is prone to eczema.  Sleeek, elegant black packaging drew me in to buy it. Plus not expensive comparing to my other fave from Guerlain and Tom Ford. This foundation is lightweight, does not accentuate my very big pores. I have oily to combo skin and mid aged. No wrinkles yet, but expression lines when grinning under the eyes get accentuated with some foundations as they settle in with movement and my oil production. This foundation does not and feels like skin. I do not use primers, just from skincare hydrating oil free serum all over. Foundation lasts me all day until I take it off. I apply it with  fingers. And since I love light coverage I use it sparingly. Best part, my face does not look shiny, just normal all day.
For me, the Chanel Perfection lumiere Velvet is the best foundation out there. I have fair skin so I use shade 20 - Beige and when used in conjunction with IT cosmetics bye bye pores my skin is honestly flawless - they are both holy grail products for me. It’s not a foundation I use everyday- because it’s a little pricey - but an essential to a great make up routine.  I apply it with my fingers which is a huge plus as I don’t really like sponges or other applicators. It can also be used as a concealer to hide imperfections or minor blemishes and is very lightweight to apply. My skin is normal and the result is a matte finish - I don’t like too much shine. It is a product that lasts the day and does not set into my wrinkles or feel cakey - wining!!  I definitely recommend anyone use it - especially people that are concerned about foundation settling into lines and wrinkles. It will not disappoint!
I purchased this foundation two weeks ago after wanted to try something new come summer. First, some background on my skin: I have VERY oily, acne scarred, very pale skin. I cant wear many foundations due to the dimethicone breaking me out within hours. After lots of research I purchased a sample size of the foundation to see how it went with my skin. I didn't get a bad reaction so I bit the bullet and bought the $77 bottle from David Jones online. I am in shade beige 10. The shade is warm toned but is a good match for my skin and the dimethicone is far enough down the ingredient list that it does not cause me to breakout HOORAY. Normally I wear Dermablend cover creme so I am used to VERRRY thick coverage so this actually seemed light for me, but still buildable.  Pros: *Sleek, slimline packaging *Great for oily skin *Doesn't break you out *Does what it says- it really feels like velvet! *Covers everything Cons: *Does have a strong scent *Takes a little practice to get application right Overall: I love love LOVE this foundation! It looks elegant and classy sitting on my vanity and it really is a foundation which is worth the money. While it does have a strong scent, it goes away once it dries and it isn't horrible. I cant tell you how many 'matte foundations for oily skin' I have tried and at LAST I have actually found one which does what it says. The information book with this foundation recommends you apply without a brush or sponge and while it may seem strange at first it does help. This foundation dries quickly while applying so I've found the best way is to work across your face in sections and your fingers will help 'warm' the product into your skin. I am so happy to have stumbled upon this foundation, if you have oily skin I definitely recommend you to give this one a try, you will not be disappointed. I know it is in the more exxy $$$ range but a little bit goes a long way and you do get what you pay for . After all darling, it is Chanel!
This is a great foundation for those wanting a matte finish. I have combination skin and found that it worked fantastically most of the time - the only time I struggled with it was when my skin was extra dry it looked a bit patchy.  It has a beautiful scent and texture and lasted a long time as you only need a little each time you use it. You can build it up for more coverage if you want. I have pale skin and the light shades in this foundation were perfect for me. Overall a beautiful foundation - the only reason I didn't give it 5 out of 5 was that I couldn't use it when my skin was dry.
