Are you searching for an affordable foundation that provides beautiful and long-lasting results? Look no further than this goodie from Designer Brands.   I generally wear Estee Lauder’s double wear foundation when I have an occasion requiring a long-lasting matte finish look. For this, I honestly couldn’t recommend this product enough. However, about a year ago personal circumstances left me struggling to justify the $50 purchase, so I began looking for an affordable dupe. As per usual youtube came through with the goods, and recommended this DB foundation. At $14.99 I was super skeptical, but after all the rave reviews decided to give it a go.   From first application I knew this foundation was going to be a winner for me. It has a liquid but creamy consistency, very similar to both EL double wear and YSL all hours foundations for comparison. I prefer to apply it with a damp blender, as this gives it a beautiful medium coverage. However, I would say it is buildable to a full coverage with the use of a brush and a little layering. Important to note, the foundation does set rather quickly so I recommend ensuring your skin is well hydrated and applying one area at a time, otherwise it can be a little difficult to blend.   The appearance of the foundation is slightly dewier than EL double wear, but I would definitely still call it matte. The foundation performs well for upward of ten hours, however I haven’t worn it any longer personally to agree/disagree with the 24-hour claim. As with most long-wear foundations, you will need to use a decent makeup remover to get this product off.   The packaging is also great, being both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The frosted glass makes the foundation look and feel much more expensive than it is, and the pump nozzle disperses the foundation easily and hygienically.   As other reviewers have noted, the colour range of this foundation (and most of the DB range) is not great. The lighter shades throw cool tones, while the limited darker shades throw warm tones. Not to mention there are no shades suitable to dark skin whatsoever. So, based on this I’d recommend going in store to find your colour match initially. I have knocked a star off this review based on the limited shades available.   Would I recommend this foundation? Yes, provided you can find the right shade. I have combination skin that’s on the drier side and super sensitive, but I have had no issues with this foundation (or any of the DB products I have tried to far).   PROS – affordable, long-wearing, suitable for sensitive skin, SPF 15. CONS – colour range. RATING – 4/5. SUITABILITY – all skin types.
I purchased this Designer Brand’s Long Wear 24 Hours Foundation after reading that it was a dupe for Estee Lauder's DoubleWear Foundation.  I have used Double Wear for several years and absolutely love it, so for the price of $14.99 I couldn’t help myself.   I purchased this foundation (and a whole range of DB products) from a local chemist, but you can grab it easily online.  Designer Brands online offers free shipping on purchases $60+.   The packaging is a really cute frosted glass, which although being sensitive to knocks and drops, stores the liquid foundation effectively.  The bottle has a pump that functions really well and delivers the product with control, limiting unnecessary wastage.   The foundations texture and consistency is very similar to Double Wear, maybe slightly runnier, however I find it sits slightly less matte on my skin.  I actually prefer the finish for every day wear as I find it looks much more natural and feels more breathable on my skin.   I would say that the coverage is medium to full, but it is definitely build-able.  It sets quickly, but as long as you blend with purpose you won’t have any issues.  The staying power is great, easily lasting throughout my eight+ hour day which includes eating, drinking, exercising etc. It can be removed easily at the end of the day with a decent makeup remover.   Another thing I love about this product is that it is gentle on my skin.  I have very very sensitive skin and find that a lot of makeup products irritate me, and because of this I avoid makeup whenever I can. But I have worn this foundation on and off for a couple years now and never had any issues.   The only fault I have with this foundation is that the colour options are nowhere near as extensive as Estee Lauder’s range.  I usually wear either 3W1 or 3N1 in Estee Lauders Double Wear Foundation, and haven’t had an issue in finding a colour to match. But if your skin falls at either end of the spectrum this might not be the product for you.   All-in-all I would definitely recommend this product, especially if you are a fan of the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation. It is a truly beautiful foundation, easy on your skin, and most importantly affordable.   PROS: affordable, long wear, medium to full coverage, semi matte finish, easy to use packaging, no caking or creasing, SPF15, vitamin c and e, cruelty free and vegan product.   CONS: limited colour range, sets quickly.   TIPS: apply with a damp beauty blender to achieve a more natural finish or finish with the designer brands pressed powder for a more matte coverage.
I first found out about this foundation through a youtube video I watched. I bought it at a local small chemist. It was incredibly cheap too. The bottle itself has a pump which is amazing. This foundation is full coverage but doesn't feel cakey. I use it instead of my two faced born this way just for day to day use as it is exactly the same but much much cheaper. highly recommend.
This foundation feels lightweight to apply and gives great coverage without looking like or needing a lot on.  I was initially quite impressed as although I had good things about it, I wasn't expecting it to be as good as the more expensive foundations.  I like to mix my products up from time to time but I will buy this one again.  The pump is another bonus, just personal preference there.  Cons are that it can get patchy if you don't blend it quick enough such as around the jawline as it dries quickly.  I would recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable liquid foundation at a great price.
Don’t be worried about trying this foundation even if you have never heard of Designer Brands before. I have tried heaps of foundations and usually come back to my dependable DB Foundation when I NEED something that will last all day long. My skin is normal and I like foundations that don’t need to constantly be touched up in the day because I am busy or will forget to do it.    Application and looks This foundation has a pump dispenser and feels soft and velvety as it is applied. Once on the skin it has a semi matte finish, smooth and very natural looking. Not cakey, crepey, or heavy. For a full coverage foundation, it’s light and feels more like a bb cream depending on how much foundation you end up applying. This foundation dries and sets quickly and once set, no need to worry about your foundation for the rest of the day. I even got through a sweaty gym session with this foundation staying put on my face.   My pro tip is to use a beauty blender to apply.  This foundation works better than some of my foundations that cost triple the cost! Recommended!!!!   Pros * Quick and easy to blend * cheap * actually lasts ALL day.   Cons * it dries quick so blend fast!
LOVE this foundation! Finally a fair (actually fair) foundation at a ridiculously affordable price that lasts all day and night AND doesnt break me out! Love everything about it!
This foundation is simply amazing. Where do I even start?! First of all, I bought this foundation because I had run out of my current one and needed something to get me through until I could go into the city and purchase my normal higher-end foundation. As it was so cheap I wasn’t expecting anything amazing but Wow was I impressed! I bought Classic Ivory as I am very pale and cool (pink) toned.  I also have oily/combination skin with various acne scarring. This foundation covers VERY well. I put it on around 8am and set it with any powder I have, after a busy working day my foundation is still going strong come 7pm! It doesn’t settle into my scars, doesn’t rub off, and never oxidizes. I now have been using this foundation as my only choice for a year and it did not cause me to break out like other long wearing foundations. The only thing I need to do is powder my nose after about 6 hours due to my oily skin which is still nothing to complain about! I have actually recommended this product to my girlfriends, a few of which have switched their usual foundations for this one. If you’re in the market for a new, low-cost foundation give this one a go!
Hail the foundation gods! Finally a cheap (and I mean cheap!) foundation that actually works.  I bought this foundation honestly not expecting much and I was pleasantly surprised with the result. I bought The DB Longwear in the colour classic ivory. Being fair my main concerns regarding foundation are that they're either too white or too pink however this colour matches my skin beautifully. I applied the foundation with a brush and was pleased (okay, super excited) that I didn't require any concealer, the cover is THAT good. I would highly recommend giving this foundation a whirl and if you don't like it, well you're only down $15.
