I purchased this product as I loved the idea of adding a booster to my skin care regime and because I was looking for a potent form of vitamin A so this booster sounded perfect.
I am in my mid 30’s with normal/combination skin. My skincare concerns are mild hormonal acne, fine lines and loss of volume as I begin to age.
I would not class my skin as sensitive however I am prone to break out pretty badly if I use a product that doesn’t agree with me and so I need to be careful about which products I buy. I have previously used and enjoyed intraceuticals products. Intraceuticals is a brand that I trust and so I had no hesitation when it came to trying their vitamin A booster.
I found the price to be quite reasonable for such a high quality product. At 15ml, you don’t get a huge amount however I would not recommend using this every day as it is quite strong. I use it every 3rd or 4th night (2-3 times per week) and only need 1-2 pumps in order to cover my whole face therefore I am satisfied with the amount of product as it will last me for a while.
This serum has a lovely light weight consistency and little to no odour. It absorbs well and does not clog pores or leave any sticky or greasy residue.
I apply this booster in the evening, after cleansing, toning and before my night cream.
I noticed that my pores became less visible after a few weeks of use. I also noticed that there has been an improvement in the fine lines beneath my eyes, as well as the lines where my nasolabial folds are.
My skin is looking a lot clearer, brighter, more even toned and I have experienced no breakouts whilst using this product. I have a few acne scars which were dark in colour and are now much lighter which I am thrilled about.
I noticed the first results after 2 weeks of use (3 uses), and my skin has continued to improve since.
I am really happy with this product and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who has similar skin concerns as myself.
One last thing that I will add for anyone who tries this product - it is imperative to use an spf when using vitamin A, as vitamin A increases the skins sensitivity to UV rays.
I am a Vit A devotee from way back....a horrific time a few years ago of non-stop,painful acne (at a time when you would think your skin would be acting it's age by now),left me forever in it's debt, and willing to sing it's praises to whoever would listen. And as i had already discovered this brand's cleanser as a bit of a skin saviour,i wanted to try this and see what it would do for me (now that my skin is clear of that previous hot mess, but still prone to a "once a month" eruption).
Intraceuticals Booster Vitamin A is a product that comes in a very convenient, very pro and clean looking,15ml sized ,pump top bottle (yes, yes,i hear you..."15ml and almost $50,but hang in there....i'll reduce the panic in a sec) and is a lightweight,"gel cream" texture that is super comfortable to use and a dream to feel on the skin, with no real fragrance to speak of.
The great thing about Vitamin A,is that it is an "all rounder" product....it clarifies and refines the appearance of skin affected by sun damage, helps even out uneven texture, reduces deep wrinkles AND YET blasts blemishes into oblivion (so really, any skin type should have this in it's arsenal).Vitamin A (a retinol),works by exfoliating away the dead surface layer of skin, therefore clearing pores, reducing wrinkle depth, evening out skin by revealing newer, clearer layers and speeding up cell turnover in problem, acneaic skin conditions. The only issue with some Vit A,is that fact that it can be quite harsh, leave skin very "flaky" and sometimes red and uncomfortable...enter this baby to the rescue. With a “release on demand form of Vitamin A for increased potency, enhanced product stability and reduced irritation",those side effects that may have meant you weren't willing to use one of the best products out there for skincare, suddenly become a lot less troublesome....and a lot more palatable for even sensitive types (although, this IS an active product,so do a test first). So,how do you use it ? Good question. What I did (at night only, and whilst i am long since used to retinol products,i used it every second night) was I would mix the Vitamin A serum in with my other fave night time serum, and then moisturise. I didn't have any "stinging" sensation, but i did notice a beautiful "glow" when i woke the next day. After a few weeks,i noticed some fine lines on my forehead were reduced,my skintone became more even (still had the signs of sun spots,i will admit,BUT they did look a tad lighter) and my skin just felt a LOT more cared for.I really do believe that the "release on demand" effect here, truly is the difference with this product dear reader....it means a lot of hard working active, with none of the previous form of Vit A drawbacks, but only YOU will know for sure when you give this a try (and i strongly suggest you do).
OK,so back to that monetary outlay issue...yep,it is going to set you back $50,yes,it is only 15ml,BUT you need a pump the size of a nailhead to do the job,and if you mix it with your moisturiser,it will stretch for many weeks of use (you can go as infrequent as twice a week and still get a noticeable result).
TIP:Now you shouldn't need to be told this,as it stands to reason,BUT...when you use this product,be vigilant about using an SPF.Vit A does a great job at perfecting your skin, but it also makes you extremely susceptible to sunburn. So even though it's winter, slap on that SPF like there's no tomorrow, and the good you are doing with this will be reinforced.
