Weleda Skin Food Light

Weleda Skin Food Light is formulated for dry skin, has a light, creamy consistency and absorbs quite easily. The cream is packaged in a lime green tube with a flat, flip-top cap allowing the tube to stand upright. The tube contains 75ml of product. Skin Food Light can be used on the face or body. I’ve used this as a face moisturiser during the cooler months and it has prevented my skin from feeling dried out. This cream penetrates deeply into my skin leaving it looking smooth and plumped. The fragrance is intoxicating – a fresh citrus scent which I absolutely love – and it lingers for some time. This light version of Skin Food is a very welcome product because now I can use Skin Food Light on my face and leave the original Skin Food for my body.

I was super excited to try this product Weleda light as I had read some great reviews and I love that this product is certified as Natural Skincare. The scent is light fresh and delicious and the cream although called light is quite rich and heavy and loaded with great ingredients. My skin absorbed the cream quickly and it felt comfortable and soothing on application and there was no irritation or discomfort from the ingredients. My skin felt soft, smooth and protected and was nicely moisturised. I am going to repurchase this cream again as I think it will really shine in the winter months addressing dry patchy skin, chapped lips and general flakiness.

This has quickly become my favourity everything cream. I love the really fresh citrusy scent of this and that the cream is so smooth and buttery. It is lighter than the original skin food which is great because I can use it from everything to my hands, elbows, body and face. I keep this in my bag and use it regularly. Also love that it is all natural.

This is a rich cream in a light based emulsion of oils. Love the smell and consistency of this light yellow tinged cream. Sweet and fruity citrus candy like. Just the thing is too rich for my oily to combo skin. Though I enjoy to use it under the eye (mid aged skin going thin in there and with dehydration crepey) as a mask. And a lip mask. Overnight only. Same with the rich version. Also I use it on wet skin, just a tad and spread all over the face massaging well. This makes skin look so glowy and soft. But since I need to use quite a few actives, serums are a priority in my skincare routine. And I rarely use moisturizers. 

This is the lighter version of the famous Skin Food, a natural moisturiser that nourishes dry skin. It has a really nice herbal scent that I adore, and it melts into your skin when applied. Even though this is the light version, it is still quite occlusive and unfortunately too heavy for my combination facial skin, but it would suit drier skin types. You can also apply it to dry areas on your body such as hands or elbows. It feels luxurious, but is a bit pricey for a small tube ($24.95 for 75ml). It's ok if you can use it on your face but pricey as a body product.

I love the feeling of this moisturizer - It feels nice and light to wear, is not oily or greasy and just as the name suggest, quite light compared to the original product.  I love the original weleda skin food for winter days but would definitely prefer this for summer time. Also, this is more suitable as all purpose than the original - if you ever consider putting it on face. The texture is so soft and silky. I feel like this has higher hydration factor than moisturizing. Also, just like the original, made from all natural ingredients this is a very gentle product that would suit all skin types, including sensitive.

Purchased this after forgetting to pack my usual moisturiser for a night away. This cream has an instant soothing effect with a delightful yet subtle scent. Love the texture’s creaminess and spreadability. Leaves a light dewy feeling just perfect for subsequent liquid or powder foundation. Will definitely repurchase and recommend without hesitation.

I’m a huge ride or die fan of the original weleda skin food. This formula has the same rich and nourishing benefits of its predecessor with a lighter formulation. Still just as nourishing but with a formula that spreads and melts into the skin ‘easier’.  Same price point as the original but for those wanting a less dense formulation still packed with all the goodness that is skin food, this ones for you!  I love using this as an overnight mask and waking up with dewy supple skin. 

I love the light feeling of this face and body moisturiser. It feels nice and light to wear, is not oily or greasy and is a great price. I love this on my face as it has a soft silky feel and leaves my face soft, smooth and really hydrated. I also love this for dry areas like elbows as it makes my skin so soft. It’s full of nutrients to do skin good and for regenerative qualities. This is a great day moisturiser that’s really gentle and natural and great for sensitive skin. Love this and highly recommend it

Weleda Skin Food has always been my ‘go to’ for nourished and glowing skin. This new lighter formulation is just as great as the original but with a lighter more lotion consistency. It may have a lighter consistency but it’s still packed full of the organic hydrating ingredients as the original. In fact, I have both and I’m still undecided as to which one I prefer because they’re equally as good!  It leaves this hydrated non oily glow on my skin through the entire day. It’s a bed side staple in my home and I cannot see my daily life without it.
