I generally have oily skin prone to blemishes and congestion. I am often looking for products to help clear and balance my skin without overdrying and being too harsh. It is often a struggle to find anything to fix the situation as my skin is also very sensitive and most products just cause further problems and don't help at all with the previous issues either. I purchased the Philosophy Microdelivery Resurfacing Peel as I had used a few other Philosophy products previously and had good results. The Philosophy peel is a 2 step process and seems simple enough to use. Step 1 comes in a cloudy white plastic jar with a black screw off lid. I immediately loved the smell the second I opened it. Refreshing freshly sliced oranges! Smelt a lot like the Tang Orange powdered drink . Just delicious.  To use, you simply smooth a small amount over cleansed face being extra careful not to scrub too hard as it is quite a coarse texture. You then open step 2 which comes in a little plastic container with a flip top lid. This product is a clear gel like texture and isn't as pleasant smelling but not an overwhelming scent either. Step 2 activates the peel instantly upon application.  As soon as it was applied I immediately felt a warming sensation and I honestly got quite worried I was about to burn my skin! I've never used a product that works like this and it was quite frightening initially! It didn't get any warmer than that however and was comfortable to wear for the whole time it was on. After washing off ,I couldn't believe how smooth and soft my skin felt! My skin had never felt so good! My skin was radiant and renewed after just one use and makeup and skin care applied so much better after use. There was an initial pinkness to my skin after washing the peel off but that faded within a few minutes. This is one of my all time favorite products. A once a week luxurious pampering treatment I look forward to using  Pros *Gentle enough for sensitive skin *Clears congestion and gives skin a smooth feel and radiant glow *Easy to use *Affordable micro peel *Quite long lasting as a little goes a long way and only needed to use max once a week *Smells amazing *Fun to use Cons *Be careful not to scrub the step 1 paste in as it will irritate the skin.
Beauty is many steps, layers and categories, and is very much skin deep. If you have a twice daily and weekly skin care routine, and dedicate yourself to working hard at it, you will be rewarded with skin that is smooth, soft, even, hydrated and with a natural, radiant glow, and makes everything else, beauty wise, fall into place, and give you that gorgeous feeling that radiates off of you of power, confidence and true happiness, inside and outside. I practice what I preach, and have been rewarded with the best skin of my life, that glows with my inner and outer happiness and beauty. Twice a day, I double cleanse, first with a micellar water or oil, then remove with a damp facial cloth, then I apply serum and moisturiser. On top of that, once or twice a week, I exfoliate with a chemical exfoliant, apply a clay or cream or gel mask, and even more, I've started adding an at home two step skin peel, with this Philosophy the microdelivery resurfacing peel. I've used and loved Philosophy skin care products before, so I had no problem with forking out the rather steep price of $95, as I knew that it would be just as easy, effective and give instant and long lasting results. After double cleansing, I applied a thin, even layer of the vitamin c crystals, with the delicious fragrance of oranges, and gently massaged into my skin in small, circular motions, and then applied the second step of the activating lotion, leaving to foam up slightly for a couple of minutes, and then removed very thoroughly from my face with a damp facial cloth, taking my time to ensure every last bit was gone. Almost instantly, my skin looked and felt smoother, softer, brighter and more even in tone and texture. It was super simple to use, just two simple steps that takes only minutes out of your day to do, it is very gentle on even the most sensitive of skin such as mine, not irritating it or causing it to go red or blotchy at all, and it is definitely cheaper than, and just as effective as a professional peel, and in the comfort of your own bathroom also, win, win, and triple win,a tick in every box. Philosophy continue to market products that are effective, easy to use, gentle on even sensitive skin, smell and feel beautiful, and continue to give instant and long term results, continuing to improve the condition, texture and feel of your skin as you continue to incorporate the products into your twice daily or weekly, skin care routines. Beauty is very much skin deep, it is the base of everything you do before and after, and gives you waves of power, happiness and confidence boosting feelings that nothing else in this world will ever live up to. The true power of beauty, inner and outer, comes from products and brands like Philosophy. Get a little bit of beauty philosophy into your life.
I purchased this for my mum after her telling me she wanted to use a product where she could notice a visible difference in her skin tone and smoothness. She only used it twice (bless her) and then gave it to me after admitting she was unlikely to devote that time to her skin regularly.  I worked for a skin care company in my 20's so have used active ingredients regularly for years. My skin is in good condition so i wasn't expecting a noticeable difference with this product however I was pleasantly surprised.  I like the feel of the manual exfoliation and my skin is definitely smoother and brighter after each use. Its great to use in the morning before an event where you want your makeup to go on flawlessly.  I do achieve similar results with the ExfoliKate treatment from Kate Sommerville however this product is much better value for money.  I will repurchase and recommend.
I have admired the results of chemical peels for years, but unfortunately as a full-time student those beauty treatments have never been a reality for me. Due to this I have contemplated at-home peels for a while, but lack of knowledge paired with a deep phobia of burning all the skin from my face has prevented me from taking the plunge. However after reading countless five-star reviews of this product I decided to give it a go. This peel is one of Philosophy’s best sellers, and that's saying something coming from such a reputable company. It's a two-step exfoliating skin treatment that aims to resurface and replenish the skin through the use of vitamin c, peptides, lactic/salicylic acids, and claims to reduce the appearance of fine line, pores, and wrinkles. I was attracted to this product as I have hyperpigmentation from hormonal acne, and the peel claims to improve this. . The first step is the vitamin c/peptide crystals that come in a 60g jar with black lid. The product is orange, and has a nice citrus scent. It has the consistency of a microdermabrasion scrub, and is applied in a thin layer directly onto skin. I use a teaspoon-sized amount and gently massage into the skin for 60seconds avoiding the eye/lip areas. The crystals are large, so be careful not to be too aggressive. I will include a list of ingredients at the end of this review. The next step is the lactic/salicylic acid activating gel, which is clear, fragrance-free, and comes in a white bottle with black lid. Again I use a teaspoon-sized amount, and apply on top of the vitamin c crystals. The product then foams and creates a warming sensation. I leave this on for 2 minutes, and then gently massage the foam/crystals for another minute for additional exfoliation. The final step is to thoroughly rinse your face. (Note – packaging now details different instructions. It now says to take the same amount of each product and mix in a bowl until foaming, then apply to skin. I’m unsure the reason for change, and the philosophy website still lists the initial instructions, so I’m not sure if one application method is better than the other in terms of results. I’ve tried both methods, and much prefer applying the steps individually to my skin as I feel more of the warming sensation and there is no need to clean up the mixing bowl after use). In regard to immediate results, I can see an improvement in the texture and appearance of my skin. It looks tighter and has a beautiful natural glow, something that my dull skin has never had. I have been using this product weekly for the past eight weeks, and have already noticed a reduction in hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I have combination sensitive skin but so far have had no adverse reaction to this product. For those of you with different skin types/concerns, both my mum and sister have been using this peel and are also loving the results. My mum has dry skin and her main concern is signs of ageing. After just one use her wrinkles were less noticeable and her skin looked much tighter/brighter. My sister on the other hand has oily skin, with the main concern of oiliness/breakouts. Her results were not as noticeable after one use, but a couple months on the number of breakouts she is having has reduced and the size of her pores has reduced significantly, leaving her skin looking cleaner and healthier. So this peel is a hit with three out of three skin types, which I think is pretty darn amazing! I have repurchased and will continue to do so, as I believe I have only just scratched the surface of the potential results. I would recommend this peel to anyone looking at improving the overall appearance of his/her skin through a cost and time efficient at-home treatment. In summary: Pros – easy to use, time and cost efficient alternative to salon treatments, pleasant citrus scent, caters to different skin types/concerns, a little goes a long way. Cons – a little pricey (but not really once you consider the cost of individual salon treatments and the small amount of product required each use). Suitability – all skin types, especially those with dull or uneven skin concerns. Ingredients (as listed on the philosophy website) Crystals: peg-6,sodium bicarbonate, oleth-20, glyceryl stearate se, silica, tocopheryl acetate,1,2-hexanediol, caprylyl glycol, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, helianthusannuus (sunflower) seed oil, tocopherol, beta-carotene, retinyl palmitate, ethylhexyl palmitate, parfum/fragrance, palmitoyl oligopeptide, tribehenin, sorbitan isostearate, limonene, bht. I love this peel!!!! There are few products out there that I feel make an obvious (and immediate) difference to my skin but this is one of them. The 2-step process is simple to follow and only takes a few minutes out of your day. It does leave my skin a bit red, but once the redness has subsided I'm left with fresh, glowing skin.
Definitely salon worthy,  bought this when I were looking for a more intense pick me up, this little baby went straight to work clearing out my deep large pores, it is a zingy citrus vitamin smell,  face feels fresh and feels like it lasts for ages, you only need a small amount to get into a good paste to exfoliate with - note if you have remotely sensitive skin, do NOT use this, the micro beads do work magically but they are pretty tough. Would definitely buy again and again.
I have sensitive skin that doesn't cope well with most Peel type products, but can happily report I have used this on a regular basis, and never experienced a negative reaction. The Peel has 2 distinct components. Part 1 involves applying, with small, gentle,  circular pressure the orange Vitamin C Crystals. I enjoy this part of the process, I can feel the surface of my skin slowly becoming smoother, without any irritation. Then comes the fun part 2!  The Activating Gel turns the Vitamin C Crystals into a semi-foamy liquid when they combine. It feels great, the Gel lifts the Crystals off the skin, leaving behind a complexion that would rival a baby's tushy! Not bad for someone with skin well past those baby years.  I only use this around twice a month, due to my sensitive skin, and have been delighted with on-going results.  It is also excellent value for money, lasting me through numerous uses.  I feel it really does give a result that can rival a beauty salon treatment for significantly less overall cost.  It's brilliant. Try it out and see for yourself!
In my opinion the Microdelivery Peel Kit gives results comparable to a salon treatment, yet it is quick and easy to use in your own home and it costs less than one salon treatment for multiple uses.  I have been using this once a week for almost 2 months and I still have around half the product left. It provides an amazing exfoliation and the vitamin C gives my skin a real boost. I like to apply it prior to a shower and rinse it off under the running water – I can feel immediate results as my skin feels SO soft and smooth, and I am sure I can notice a clearer, brighter complexion after using it. The Vit C crystals which you apply first can feel quite harsh so I tend not to massage them in for a full minute as recommended, but massage them in a little more once the activating gel has been applied over the top. I haven't suffered any dryness or sensitivity after using this, but if you have sensitive skin I would probably use it with caution the first time just in case! Overall, I love the kit and will definitely buy it again as I find it much quicker, cheaper and more convenient than getting regular salon microdermabrasions/facials.
