Recreate Mila Kunis’ twisted half updo

It’s a modern take on the classic look

Recently, Mila Kunis appeared at the world premiere of Bad Moms in Los Angeles sporting a classic hairstyle we’ve all come to love over the years (and rely on whenever we’re running late). However, the expectant mum’s take on the classic half ponytail involved one major twist at the back.

According to Allure, Mila’s look, created by celebrity hairstylist Renato Campora, is actually a cinch to recreate. Here’s how to copy her hairstyle in four simple steps.

1

Prep the hair

To start with, Campora prepped Mila’s wet hair with Matrix Style Link Mineral Airy Builder mousse (available only in salons), blow-dried it and then flat ironed her locks for a sleek and super straight finish.

2

Section and comb

Next he sectioned the front of her hair (from the forehead to above the ears, half way up her head) and neatly backcombed at the crown to add volume before smoothing the top section into a sleek half-up ponytail.

3

Twist away

For the unique tweak on this classic look, Campora then took a small piece of hair from the lengths of the ponytail and wrapped it down part of the ponytail before securing the end with a bobby pin underneath.

4

Mist to finish

Lastly, he sprayed a mist of hairspray to set the look and leave hair looking shiny, sleek and polished. We recommend the L'Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Normal Strength hairspray.
