Ryan Gosling made this rookie beauty error while filming the ‘Barbie’ movie

We’ve all been there

Barbie has a host of careers to keep her busy, but Ken's job is to look good next to his girlfriend.

So, unsurprisingly, Ryan Gosling’s grooming routine became a lot more involved when he played Ken in Greta Gerwig’s upcoming Barbie film.

At the Warner Bros. panel at CinemaCon 2023 earlier this month, Gosling admitted that initially he doubted his “Ken-ergy” and his ability to play himbo sidekick to Margot Robbie’s Barbie

“I only knew Ken from afar,” he said. “I didn't know Ken from within and if I'm being really honest, I doubted my Ken-ergy. I didn't see it, but Margot and Greta, they conjured this out of me somehow.”

Adopting the iconic pretty boy's beauty routine made the transition easier for Gosling.

“It was like I was living my life and then one day I was bleaching my hair, shaving my legs, wearing bespoke neon outfits, and rollerblading down Venice beach,” Gosling explained. “It came on like a light scarlet fever.”

But the himbofication of Ryan Gosling wasn’t all smooth sailing.

The actor revealed that he managed to commit a seriously relatable beauty faux pas while playing the sun-kissed toy boy.

“I woke up one day and was like, 'Why is there fake tanner in my sheets? What just happened?',” he told the panel.

Someone get this man a fake tan sheet protector stat!
