I'm a Beauty Editor and this is what I'm buying in Sephora's Black Friday sale
As a Beauty Editor I've tried just about every beauty product under the sun. Years of being sent PR packages with all the latest and greatest makeup, hair, skin care, fragrance, and the like, has forced me to develop better discernment when I do spend on beauty products.
As we all know, Black Friday sales are just around the corner, with the last weekend of November promising to be one of the best times of year to snag a deal.
Naturally, it's an ideal opportunity to stock up on essentials like a favourite moisturiser or a signature perfume. But I also find that a sale helps to lower the stakes when I've been eyeing up a particularly indulgent purchase too. And — I hate to bring this up — but the impending gifting season is ever-present and looming, so it can't hurt to cross a few names off of the old Christmas present list. There are plenty of limited edition holiday gift packs to choose from at Sephora this year.
Last year, Sephora's Black Friday sale lasted for four whole days, and Sephora Beauty Pass members could enjoy a 15 per cent discount with no minimum spend or 20 per cent off with a minimum spend of $120. So if you're not already a Sephora Beauty Pass member, now is the perfect time to sign up (joining is completely free).
I also suggest fine tuning your wish list now, so you can easily add to cart when the sales start, and most importantly, before stocks run out.
Not sure what to shop? This is what I'm adding to cart, and it's on sale right now!
A Beauty Editor's Sephora Black Friday Sale Wish List
Lancôme Génifique Ultimate Serum
usually $150, now on sale for $75 at Sephora
I've had a soft spot for this soothing serum after getting the opportunity to review it at the start of winter last year. Now that it's half price at Sephora I have an excuse to indulge my caviar tastes on a shoestring budget. This pick always leaves my complexion looking more radiant and refined, it minimises the appearance of my pores, and it makes my skin feel more hydrated and healthy too.
Key features:
Enriched with beta-glucan CM, hyaluronic acid, licorice extract, and pre and probiotics
Targets redness and fine lines
Smooths skin
Lightweight and fast-absorbing formula
Available at:
30ml: usually $150, now on sale for $75 at Sephora
Armani Beauty Vertigo Lift Mascara
usually $40, now on sale for $20 at Sephora
Being able to shop a Giorgio Armani mascara for just $20 is an exceedingly rare life experience, which is why I very much intend to take full advantage of the unlikely discount this week. The clump-free formula promises to lift, lengthen and curl lashes. Plus, it doesn't smudge or flake throughout the day. Sold!
Key features:
Infinity-Loop brush grips, coats and separates each lash
Clump-free and smudge proof formula
Smooth, lightweight and buildable
Lifts, lengthens and curls
Creates natural to dramatic eye looks
Available at:
4ml: usually $40, now on sale for $20 at Sephora
L'Atelier Parfum Interlude Euphoria Oh La La On The Highway To Heaven Scented Candle
usually $74, now on sale for $37 at Sephora
Does the sound of a euphoric olfactory experience sound blissful to you? It sounds so good to me that I've been tempted by this joy-inspired burner from L'Atelier Parfum. Figgy, herbaceous, and woody, this candle is made with up to 96 per cent natural ingredients for peace of mind while you bliss out too.
Fragrance notes:
Top: Fig Leaf, Mint and Thyme
Heart: Hemp, Fig Milk and Jasmine
Base: Cedarwood and Patchouli
Available at:
180g: usually $74, now on sale for $37 at Sephora
Fenty Skin Perfect Puck'R Hydrating Lip Care Duo
usually $60, now on sale for $30 at Sephora
Plump, hydrated lips are a non-negotiable for me, which is why I love this lip care duo from Fenty Skin so much. There's a lip oil for my handbag for touch-ups on the go, and a lip mask I can stash in my bathroom as the final step in my evening skin care routine.
Key features:
Contains Fenty Treatz Hydrating + Strengthening Cherry Lip Oil (5.6ml) and Plush Puddin' Intensive Recovery Lip Mask (15g)
Improves lips' natural moisture barrier
Smooths uneven texture
Promotes a firm, bouncy pout
Available at:
5.6ml/15g: usually $60, now on sale for $30 at Sephora
By Rosie Jane Dylan Eau De Parfum Travel Spray
usually $40, now on sale for $20 at Sephora
This fragrance is one of my favourites, because it's like a lighter version of Le Labo's Gaic 10, which is one of my go-to winter scents. During summer I'm spritzing Dylan with wild abandon, so I always like to keep a travel-sized bottle in my purse for afternoon top ups.
Fragrance notes:
Top: Guaiac Wood
Heart: Bergamot Blossom
Base: Amber Silk
Available at:
7.5ml: usually $40, now on sale for $20 at Sephora
Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush in 'Happy'
usually $48, now on sale for $24 at Sephora
I love using these radiant blushes from Rare Beauty as blush toppers or highlighters, because they add such a beautiful wet-look sheen to skin. Personally, I reach for the shade 'Happy'. It's a true pink that looks gorgeous layered over a bubblegum pink cream blush.
Key features:
Available in six shades
Radiant, high-pigment finish
Smooth, weightless formula
Seamless, diffused blend
Buildable for a soft or more dramatic look
Available at:
2.8g: usually $48, now on sale for $24 at Sephora
Starskin Dreamkiss™ Plumping & Hydrating Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Lip Masks
usually $17, now on sale for $8.50 at Sephora
We're not doing enough lip masks as we should be in my opinion. Especially after winter, a masking sesh (a lip sheet mask followed by a lip sleeping mask) can completely transform a dry, chapped and dull pout overnight.
Key features:
Enriched with mango, hyaluronic acid and honey
Plumps lips
Softens and smooths rough skin
Hydrates and nourishes
Bio-cellulose mask
Works in 15 minutes
Available at:
Duo pack: usually $17, now on sale for $8.50 at Sephora
