The shaved brow trend has already claimed the eyebrows of 3 celebrities

We like to think of ourselves as the beauty industry’s Nostradamus equivalent; we’re basically prophets, okay?

We’re especially proud of our ability to predict the eyebrow trends of 2022 – we forecasted the rise of bleached brows and eyebrow lamination.

What we didn’t foresee however, was Doja Cat shaving her eyebrows on Instagram Live. And, while you may be convinced this was an isolated incident, you’d be wrong.

Jodie Turner-Smith shaved her brows in March, and model Amelia Gray (AKA the eldest daughter of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna) shaved her brows for a recent photoshoot with Interview Magazine.

Gray had been going back and forth between bleached brows and her natural thick brunette arches for a few months, but admitted via TikTok she’d “really been wanting to shave them.”

“I love it, it’s f***ing sick,” she screamed in the video as she stroked her newly bald face. “Baby smooth.”

Keen to follow in the footsteps of the rich and famous? The shaved brow trend is surprisingly low-maintenance.

We suggest following the lead of the pros who helped Gray get rid of her arches and getting your hands on a can of shaving cream and a men’s razor. Men’s razors tend to be sharper than women’s razors and are intended for use on the face (plus, they’re a lot cheaper too). Most have a minimum of 4-5 blades, in-built lubricants and moisturisers, which help to promote a smooth shave too.

We recommend:

Gillette Fusion ProShield 5 Mens Razor ($17.50 at Woolworths); Schick Hydro 5 Sense Comfort Razor ($17.50 at Woolworths); and Bic Flex 5 Hybrid Razor ($10.50 at Woolworths).

Another trend that’s gone global this year? Skin cycling.
