Is it just us, or is pink eye makeup having a MAJOR moment? Because over the course of a week we’ve noticed it’s absolutely everywhere. Taking shape in many different forms, from glitter-laden lids to soft blends, this edgy-meets-sweet colour seems to be the latest red carpet must-have.
It’s one of our favourite beauty looks right now, because no matter how you wear it, you’re going to make a statement. Check out some of the best pink eyeshadow inspiration looks of late!
Bold, bright, brilliant eyes are all the rage and Katy knows what’s up. The singer attended the 25th Annual Fashion Footwear Charitable Foundation Gala looking pretty in pink, setting off all kinds of retro Barbie vibes.
In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Katy teamed her statement outfit with eye-catching pink makeup – and it might just be our most favourite look on her. Celebrity makeup artist Hung Vanngo gave the star a dramatic magenta smoky eye, blended around Katy’s upper and lower lash lines. The eye makeup was swept outwards towards her temples in a cat-eye flick, lifting her features and accentuating her blue eyes. Bold brows, a flawless matte complexion and a rosy matte lip completed the whole glamorous look.
Olivia Munn looked like an actual cotton candy dream in this look by celebrity makeup king Patrick Ta. It’s slightly less dramatic than Katy’s eye makeup, however the dazzling pink eyeshadow still made for a head-turning look. And while we would think it probably took a whole load of different pinks from different palettes to create said look, Ta shared that he only used one particular product – the Huda Beauty Pink Palette (we think he means this one: Huda Beauty Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette in Mauve). Teamed with a KKW Beauty Cherry Blossom Collection lipstick and a sweep of blush, this bold, eye poppin’ look is definitely one to copy on your next night out.
If you prefer a more understated powdery pink, take your cues from Vanessa Hudgens. The star took to the AMAs red carpet the other week wearing a stunning, soft rosy makeup look, also by Patrick Ta. Using Desi Perkins x Katy Friendcation Palette (it’s not available in Australia just yet *sad face*) and Shiseido Aura Dew in Solar, Ta created this jaw-droppingly pretty iridescent smoky eye. It’s utter perfection and it’s subtle enough to wear every day. It’s the perfect entry-level look into the pink eye makeup trend.
