I travelled to London to try the viral Wonderskin Lip Stain so you didn't have to

And now it's available in Australia (if you know where to go)

Content Producer / January 21 2026

You know the excitement you feel before you go on an international holiday? You're planning out all the cool places to go and see and, of course, the rather long list of everything you'd like to buy. Well, when I was heading to London, mine included the Wonderskin Lip Stain.

When you're a beauty lover like me, a trip obviously includes going into all the local drugstores and international beauty shops. Because let's be real, Australia is catching up, but it's not quite there yet on new launches. Damn, we're only just getting Rhode Skin now.

So, you get my excitement when I finally touched down in London and was finally able to get my hands on the tint I'd been seeing on TikTok. And no, it wasn't just a fleeting viral trend: lip stains went off in 2025 and we can expect to see even bolder tones making their way into our makeup routines in 2026. Plus, while I had to fly halfway around the world to get my hands on the fan fave, you can now simply order it from Amazon Australia.

In case you've missed the Wonderskin Lip Stain hype, let me fill you in on all its longwearing glory.

What is Wonderskin Lip Stain?

Wonderskin Lip Stain is a TikTok viral lip stain that has had us hooked and wanting to try it for years. The stain applies as a shimmering blue colour, then once removed (15-30 seconds later), the blue tone reveals the chic but natural-looking shade beneath.

The stain earnt its hype as a 'peel off' lip stain, but while that's only partly true, you best believe that it is indeed worth the hype. And trust us, we put it to the test.

Wonderskin Lip Stain features

Wonderskin Lip Stain's key features include:

* The ultra-longwearing finish

* How smudge and transfer-proof it is

* Buildable finish (trust me)

* The non-drying, alcohol-free formula

* The incredible shade range

I chose the shade 'Whimsical' (a warm rose colour), without much intel aside from the fact that it was the last one of its shade on the shelf at Boots, and that gave me hope that I was picking a winner.

And I was right. On my initial test of the stain I tried to make it work as a blurred-out lip liner, and let's be real it wasn't perfect, but I was pretty proud of my efforts. A doe foot applicator doesn't exactly lend itself to the most precise application but hey, it was a test and I wasn't going to be seen by anyone.

My next application was what you can see above: a true all-over lip stain.

I could have sworn my long-since recycled box told me to leave it on for three minutes, but turns out I was wrong. So, do as I say, not as I do, I guess. Leave the shimmering blue tint of for 15-30 seconds and if you want to see a deep result, reapply. You might have seen all the hype with the Wonderskin lip stain being a 'peelable' formula,  but I'm going to hold your hand as I tell you: it's not. Well, not entirely. You can buy a separate 'activator' that transforms it into a peel-off formula, however, as I didn't have said activator, I just took a wet makeup pad, removed the tint and I was good to go.

The results? Well they speak for themselves really, because after hours and hours of wear, the stain was still there (and even stayed put through coffees, water and food). And it was nowhere to be found on my coffee cup or drink bottle.

As I left the office for the day, I clocked the tint in the mirror and noticed that it had finally faded into more of a subtle lip liner.

My Wonderskin Lip Stain verdict?

It's a total game-changer. Not only does the colour genuinely last with no smudging or transfers, but it also doesn't leave your lips feeling dry or uncomfortable. I seriously couldn't feel the formula on my lips at all. So I'd say the Wonderskin lip stain is definitely worth the viral hype!
