So you’ve chopped off centimetres of your hair and you’re now at a loss for how to wear and style it.
Fear not, we’ve got some excellent short hairstyles for you to try – and not all of them require maximum effort.
Braid the sides
This can work on both pixie cuts with a bit of length at the top, and bobs. Add a French braid on either side of your part, working your way down to the nape of your neck. Pin in place, and voila – a cool braided style!
Use a medium-barrel curler to create loose, effortless waves.Throw some texturising or volumising spray into the mix for more of a boho look.
Whether you’re sporting a short bob or a shoulder-length lob, you can’t go wrong with a shiny, frizz-free finish paired with a deep side part.
Clip it back
You may not be able to do the same kind of updos as when your hair was longer, but that doesn’t mean you can’t fake it. For a fancy event, gather your hair at the back of your head and secure it with a glitzy barrette. Too easy.
A side fringe
If you’re worried about your pixie cut looking too boyish, keep some length at the front and style it to the side for a soft, feminine touch.
Add some flicks
Somewhere between straight and curls, a few flicks at the ends can give your hair extra shape and movement.
Use an oval shaped curling wand to create glossy waves. Run a smoothing serum over your waves to keep that shiny finish and gently brush through with your fingers – you don’t want to lose too much of the shape when brushing.
Slick it back
Toughen up your nighttime look by slicking the lengths of your hair back.
Tip: Use a matte pomade or clay instead of a shiny gel, as this could make your hair look a little greasy.
A deep side part
Whether styled straight, curled, wavy, or tactically dishevelled, a deep side part can boost volume at the roots. For extra impact, only create the part once your hair is dry.
