Blake Lively may have just cut all her hair off

Blake-Lively-Haircut

Beauty Crew investigates

From her early days of The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants to the ruthless Gossip Girl world on the Upper East Side, Blake Lively’s long flowing, blonde mane has become her signature.

And hey, if we had locks that good, we’d be reluctant to switch up our look, too!

That’s why we were so surprised to see the actress sporting a significantly shorter ‘do at the screening of her new film, All I See Is You in Los Angeles overnight. Blake’s long-time hairstylist, Rob Ortega was the man behind her new shoulder-grazing lob, and while his Instagram caption of her new hair reads ‘#hairbyme #haircut,’ we’re fairly skeptical as to whether Blake actually took scissors to her hair.

Our skepticism is not only based on the fact we’ve been fooled by more faux celebrity hair changes than we’d like to admit (Shay Mitchell, Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian, we’re looking at you), but also because Blake’s hair timeline over the past few days doesn’t quite add up. So naturally, we decided to investigate #seriousjournos.

Blake attended the screening of her new film on Tuesday evening, however her signature long hair was still very much intact as late as Tuesday afternoon when she appeared at the press conference for the same film. While celebrity hair wizard, Rob Ortega would have been more than capable of snipping her lengths in the time between the two events, the real clincher is that Blake was seen at the airport the next morning with – drumroll please – her waist-length waves!

If our hawk eyes are correct, we don't actually see the ends of Blake's hair either. It looks as though Ortega was able to create Blake's faux lob by folding the lengths of her hair up and underneath the top layers, before pinning the ends at the nape of her neck.

So it seems our excitement over the fact that Blake has chopped off her hair was a tad premature. While her shorter ‘do was only a temporary look, we can’t help but wonder if the style was a test drive for a more permanent change in the future. Regardless, there’s absolutely no doubt in our minds that we’re going to love Blake’s next red carpet look, with or without a dramatic hair switch-up.

Itching to find out exactly how Blake’s hairstylist Rob Ortega creates her iconic hair looks? Then you’ll be keen to know there’s just one tool he never styles her hair without.
