15 shades of blue hair to try
From the celebrities who wore the trend best

Like blue eyeshadow, blue hair is making a comeback. Next to pink, it has to be one of Hollywood's absolute favourite hair hues.
And there are so many ways to give the trend a personal spin. From different shades (ranging from sky to sapphire) to different ways to blend blue in with your natural hair, have fun with it!
Here are our favourite celebrity blue hair looks to inspire your makeover.
The OG blue hair
Before any other A-lister started dabbling in blue, there was Gwen Stefani. This bright blue space buns half-up hairstyle from 1998 is one of her most memorable.
Duff may be known for her signature bright blonde, but she was one of the first celebs to make a major shade switch in 2020's initial lockdown, colouring her locks a vibrant aqua blue.
Keep your cool
Kylie Jenner has dyed her hair every colour under the sun, but we’re big fans of this icy blue hue. The subtle hints of black work well with her brows, which makes the shade look really flattering on her.
Hailey Bieber rocked an electric blue short hair look (which we’re pretty sure is the work of a wig) for a photo shoot. The look had serious grungy Fifth Element vibes.
Jaime King’s ombre ends added a punchy twist to her signature blonde hair, and offers a way more wearable way to rock blue.
As if her neon blue hair colour wasn’t enough to catch your eye, Rita Ora added voluptuous curls to seal the deal.
Billie Eilish became known for her bright blue hair, which is ironic since blue is her least favourite colour. “Here’s what’s annoying: I hate the color blue — it’s my least favorite color. I don’t know how I ended up dying it blue,” she told BuzzFeed.
Blunt and bouncy
Remember when Katy Perry had blue hair all the time? While she’s been favouring a platinum blonde look of late, her blue hair days (wig or not) are some of her most iconic.
Dua Lipa took her platinum blonde bob to the next level with a pastel shade dip-dyed through the mid-lengths to ends. We love the cool, undone vibe.
Dark and chic
If you don’t want to go bold, but still want to make a statement, blend a navy blue in with your black (or brown) hair for an edgy yet chic look like Nicole Richie.
Keen to give blue hair a go? We recommend Manic Panic Amplified Shocking Blue, which is a vegan semi-permanent blue hair dye that lasts up to six weeks, or L'Oréal Paris Colorista Washout Denim Hair for a low-commitment midnight blue option that washes out in four to 10 washes (bonus: it works on brunette hair so you don’t need to pre-lighten your locks). You may also want to check out these temporary hair dyes if you’re after other shades of blue.
