Fragrance favourite Byredo is expanding into makeup

We hear it’s going to be scent-sational

August 26 2020

Perfume powerhouse Byredo is already beloved for its amazing lineup of scents. Gyspy Water alone has to be one of the most ‘grammed fragrance of all time and Jen Atkin is such a fan, she went and nabbed a signature scent for a Byredo x Ouai dry shampoo, too.

And now, founder Ben Gorham is taking on makeup.

With a knack for smart collabs, Byredo has teamed up with makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench to create an impressive and extensive collection of cosmetic products, from matte lipsticks to mascara, eyeliner and more.

Set to launch online 1 October 2020, the products are encased in curved metallic packaging that’s futuristic-ly sleek and judging by the promos on Instagram, what’s inside is just as innovative.

“I wanted to have a product that wasn’t really defined by your skin tone and how you should wear it,” Ffrench told WWD.

“We wanted to use colour in the broad sense to empower and inspire people to express themselves and ideas,” added Gorham.

True to form, the collection features 16 blendable ‘colour sticks’, to be used anywhere on the face (or to ‘decorate’ it as Ffrench puts it).

The products won’t cost you quite the same as the brand’s bottle of juice, with prices sitting around $45-$65 AUD a pop, but the word’s out on whether it’ll be hitting stores here. Byredo is currently stocked in MECCA in Australia, so here’s hoping!
