The ceramide infused body lotion that is here to rescue your skin

CeraVe Dinkus P

Here’s what our Review Crew® had to say about this super hydrator

BEAUTYcrew Beauty Editor / August 28 2020

The product

Winter is not a skin-friendly season: dry winds, cold temps and indoor heating can take even the most luscious of limbs to dry, scaly depths.

CeraVe has created a lightweight body lotion that targets dry skin at a cellular level: CeraVe Moisturising Lotion. The formula utilises three types of ceramides and hyaluronic acid to deliver lasting hydration to the epidermis, and helps to maintain optimum barrier function for skin that will be able to hold its own in the cold, dry winter weather.

Our panel of Review Crew® testers put this hydrating body lotion to the test.

The panel

Beauty Crew sent CeraVe Moisturising Lotion to a panel of women aged between 25 and 34, who identify as having dry to very dry skin. Ten of these women were then selected to participate in a virtual Review Crew® Discovery Suite with CeraVe. CeraVe's Scientific Communications Manager Rachel McAdam and BEAUTYcrew's Beauty Editor Delaney Loane led an informative web conference on the brand's latest products: CeraVe Moisturising Lotion and CeraVe Moisturising Cream.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about CeraVe Moisturising Lotion.

How hydrating it was: REVIEWcrew® members loved how hydrating the lotion was, comparing it to a protective hydrating layer that kept skin moisturised all day long. “[The lotion] feels like a protective moisture layer on my skin [it] also includes hyaluronic acid for added moisture retention.”

The lightweight formula: Our reviewers really liked the lightweight formula, which dried quickly after application, meaning they didn’t have to worry about sticky limbs or transferring lotion onto their clothing.

The fragrance-free ingredient list: Those of our members with sensitive skin really appreciated the fragrance-free formula, minimising the risk of irritation they have experienced with other perfumed products in the past.

The verdict

“I have extremely dry skin on my body, especially the soles of my feet. I started using Cerave lotion every night after my showers and noticed a difference within a few days. My skin began to progressively become softer, no more cracks or scaly skin. It is so lightweight and absorbs into your skin quickly without feeling greasy afterwards and it is fragrance free which is perfect for sensitive skin. Would definitely recommend! It is now part of my daily routine.”

“It absorbed very quickly and [I] got that instant hydration feel. The formula is very creamy, light and a little bit does go a long way, it absorbs without leaving a greasy feel. My skin felt super smooth within seconds. I love the pump bottle, makes it quick and easy to use.”

“[The lotion] helps [to] reduce any irritation and itchy feelings I have and is quickly absorbed into my skin without leaving a sticky feeling… it feels like a protective moisture layer on my skin. CeraVe also includes hyaluronic acid for added moisture retention - I really like this about the product as I use HA in my daily skincare routine. I would definitely recommend this product to others.”
