The hair colour trends to know if you want to upgrade your look
The hottest shades for every hair colour

Sometimes hair colour trends can be hard to jump on board with if they’re so far from your natural colour and you’re not looking to make a dramatic change. But the truth is, every season there’s always a new shade in your hair colour category that leads the way as the ‘It’ shade of the moment. This list covers all the latest hair hues to try, depending on the hair colour you have – or the hair colour category you want to venture into.
Platinum blondes aren’t going anywhere this season. “You want crisp and clean colour, so invest in blue or purple-based shampoos to keep brassiness in check,” advises Danielle Solier, a L’Oréal Professionnel colourist at Victoria’s Xiang Hair.
Celeb inspo: Leighton Meester
Solier’s picks for the season are bright, nude, creamy blondes, with shadowing techniques used to create extra levels of dimension and softness.
Celeb inspo: Jennifer Lawrence
It’s all about the redhead this season. Think “cool reds like true ruby and rich wine reds,” explains Solier.
Celeb inspo: Julianne Moore
Expect to see warmer browns “with rich golden, biscuit hues that have a softness to them”, says Solier.
Celeb inspo: Kaia Gerber
Think glam-goth. “We’ll be seeing emerald green reflects placed through the lengths or throughout the hair,” says Solier.
Celeb inspo: Kendall Jenner
Still a thing: Root regrowth
“It’s a practical look that’s part of the ’90s trends we’ve been seeing,” explains Solier. Stick to one-inch regrowth or shadow tone to keep it current.
Celeb inspo: Karlie Kloss
