More of Jessie Buckley's fresh micro bob in 2026 please

The 'Hamnet' star's hairstylist shares his tips for nailing the look

The beauty looks at the 2026 Golden Globes was everything.

From Leighton Meester and Brittany Snow's loose, modern updos, to the fresh-looking foundation that was in not one, but three actress' makeup bags — the evening was ripe with contemporary beauty inspo.

Celebrity hair stylist, Bryce Scarlett, styled Jessie Buckley's fresh micro bob — who won Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for her role in Hamnet — using a well-stocked artillery of Goldwell products.

Scarlett says he was inspired by the energy and elegance of Grace Kelly for Buckley's look, but wanted to stay true to her fresh modern haircut too. Ahead, discover how he managed to strike that fine balance for the special evening...

To start, Scarlett worked the Goldwell Dualsenses Just Smooth Taming Shampoo ($59.95 from Oz Hair & Beauty) through wet hair to cleanse before following with the Goldwell Dualsenses Just Smooth Taming Conditioner ($59.95 from Oz Hair & Beauty), focusing on mid-lengths to ends and rinsing with cool water to seal the cuticle and enhance shine.

On towel-dried hair, he then sprayed the Goldwell StyleSign Smoothing Serum Spray ($28.76 from Oz Hair & Beauty) evenly from roots to ends as a barrier against heat while using a comb to distribute evenly.

Next, he then applied a small amount of the Goldwell StyleSign Strengthening Balm ($27.96 from Oz Hair & Beauty) to the hair, working it through with his fingers, paying attention to the hairline and other textured sections for control.

Then, using a small board bristle round brush for volume at the roots and sleekness through the ends, he blow dried hair section by section starting from the nape.

Scarlett then rubbed a pea-sized amount of Goldwell StyleSign Mattifying Paste ($28.76 from Oz Hair & Beauty) between his palms and worked it through dry hair with his hands, using his fingertips to create desired shape.

He then finished the look with the Goldwell StyleSign Shaping & Finishing Spray ($28.76 from Oz Hair & Beauty), holding the bottle about 6 inches away lightly sprayed the entire head for flexible hold and soft natural movement.
