If you were a teen growing up in the ‘00s with a penchant for reality TV, you’ll have first known Lara Worthington as Lara Bingle. Or if you really cast your mind back, as the blonde beauty behind the iconic “where the bloody hell are ya?” campaign.
But since the model ditched the idea of Being Lara Bingle, married Sam Worthington and began having children of her own, a more private personal life, rare public appearances and substantially less nude photo scandals followed.
The one thing that never changed, however, was her beauty icon status. Though her look has matured and refined over the years, the 33-year-old model and not-for-profit business founder has always led the way when it comes to hair and makeup trends. Not to mention, she’s got some of the best skin in the business and a healthy lifestyle to match.
From balayage to barely-there makeup, here’s a look back at Lara Worthington’s best beauty moments over the years.
Aaaaah 2004. The peak of the 'look as tanned as you possibly can' era. Solariums were banned in Australia a year later.
Maybe it's the nostalgia speaking or perhaps it's the distraction of glowing skin and blue eyes, but we're actually really digging this quiff look from the former Miss Bingle.
The Nickelodeon Australian Kids' Choice Awards saw Worthington pull out all the stops, with a half-up half-down style that Paulette from Legally Blonde would be proud of.
Finally, the confirmation we needed that concealer lips were cool at one point.
Ladies and gentlemen, we present the balayage lob that began the influx of hairdresser requests for a balayage bob.
The new decade also saw Worthington hone in on what became her signature bronze smokey eye and nude lip look.
Every now and then a punchy red lip would be added into the mix and to this very day, Worthington knows how to pull it off flawlessly.
With bronzed skin and blonde hair firmly cemented as her calling card, Worthington soon began experimenting more with statement features, like this graphic liner worn to the 2013 Prix de Marie Claire Awards.
Her debut with beau Sam Worthington saw Lara turn on the full glam, with a terracotta eye (to really make those baby blues pop), statement red lip and brushed back Hollywood hair.
The year Worthington flipped the 'mum haircut' on its head, transforming the meaning from 'practical' to 'fashion-forward'.
Her super short, side-swept bob and fresh dewy makeup signalled a new refined and mature beauty direction.
But the smokey eye still remains a favourite for events. When it looks this good, can you blame her?
In 2018, Worthington stepped out in New York with a dramatic new hair colour. The warm brunette hue looked stunning, but it wasn't long before she returned to blonde.
When it works, it works. The bronze smokey eye and statment red lip gets us every time.
