Lauren Conrad is launching a beauty line and we're crying single mascara tears of joy

Look where the girl who didn't go to Paris is now

Remember when Beyoncé dropped 'Lemonade' out of the blue? Or how Taylor Swift surprised us all with 'Folklore' when we needed it most? Well, our favourite reality-TV-icon-turned-lifestyle-guru Lauren Conrad has done just that, beauty style. Yes, indeed, 'Lauren Conrad Beauty' is not only happening, it's already here.

“I’m very excited to announce @laurenconradbeauty!” Conrad shared via social media. “This collection has been years in the making, and now I can FINALLY share it with everyone! [The] products are clean, environmentally friendly, ethically sourced, cruelty-free, and vegan – and the first collection is available today at LaurenConradBeauty.com".

What is the range made up of, you ask? The first drop is solely makeup, with the collection containing a lip and cheek tint, liquid highlighter, lip gloss, lipstick and liquid liner — fitting considering Conrad's affinity for classic cat-eyes. While we must admit it seems like the lack of mascara equals a missed meme opportunity (no The Hills fan could ever forget that glistening charcoal tear), the chic nude packaging and stunning shades certainly help matters; FYI, the lipstick colour 'Dahlia' officially has our hearts...

It seems as if not everyone in the industry is as thrilled about the news as we are, though... in fact, beauty vlogger James Charles seems to be making a habit out of coming for anyone who dares to start a makeup line.

Taking to Instagram stories to share his disappointment over the empty samples he received (more on those in a minute), Charles went as far as to say Conrad had "no business having a makeup brand" while pleading with celebs to stop launching them in general. To that we say, let's not forget that LC's glossy lips ran so that all of ours could walk.... a little respect for the queen of winged liner, please.

Conrad, classy as ever, cleared the air via her own Instagram: “For those asking about the empty components sent to James… let me tell you a funny story,” she wrote.

“The woman who put together the gifts (it was me) decided to fill a makeup bag full of empty samples to make sure everything would fit inside. When beauty products arrived and it was time to fill all the makeup bags she (again, me) accidentally included the bag full of empties with the others and it was sent out. She will be let go immediately," she joked.

Charles had evidently calmed down a few hours later (it seems regret over popping off is becoming an all too regular emotion for him following his recent beef over Alicia Keys' beauty brand), taking to stories once more to explain that he and Conrad had delved into their personal DMs to sort the issue.

“Wanted to write an apology to @LaurenConrad for my stories earlier,” he shared. “I’ve been on the verge of tears all day long from a ton of things going wrong & opening her PR package was the icing on the cake of weird things happening today. My stories talking about the products were supposed to be funny but they just came across as nasty because I was so upset, not with her, but with other things that happened today. Lauren and I spoke privately about the misunderstanding & are both good."

We just pray that no single mascara tears were cried over this mishap... but as we all know, Conrad may forgive you, but she may also want to forget you.

The real kicker, however, is that Charles still had a leg up over us Aussies with his empty LCB products, as the range is currently shipping solely within the States. But we can still seek out all the beauty advice in her iconic Lauren Conrad Beauty book for now...
