Lucy Hale shows what it takes to go from brunette to blonde

Lucy Hale shows us the process of going blonde

Looking to go lighter? You might want to take note

If anyone knows anything about going blonde, it’s our mate Lucy Hale. The actress is notorious for switching up her hair (just see here, here and here), so she’s a bit of a veteran when it comes to the whole hair transformation thing.

The actress recently posted a series of snaps on her Instagram story, proving that going blonde isn’t exactly a walk in the park. Shown sitting in the salon chair with brunette locks, she captioned the first snap “Let the hair transformation begin.”

Going blonde requires patience, experience and a colourist who knows their stuff – all of which Lucy has down pat. Her longtime hairstylist just happens to be Kristin Ess, who notably dyed Lucy Hale’s hair a shade of pink earlier this year. Ess also tends to the likes of Lauren Conrad and Jenna Dewan’s enviable locks AND she’s just released a whole range of products in Priceline – so get amongst that action!

In a recent Instagram post, Ess posted a snap of Lucy’s noticeably lighter-looking hair, praising the actress for her patience. She also touched on the fact that going from brunette to blonde is a process that shouldn’t be rushed in order to ensure minimal damage to your locks.

Ess wrote, “Chameleon AF. The life of an actor can be really hard on the hair. Thank goodness she’s got the face of an angel and the patience of a saint. When going from dark brown to blonde, trust your colorist to do it at the right pace to keep your hair from snapping off.”

Chameleon indeed. We absolutely LIVE for Lucy Hale’s hair transformations.

Now that phase one is done and dusted, we’ll keep you posted on the next stage. If her past blonde ‘dos are anything to go by, it’ll totally be worth the wait.

Update

Phase two is complete! Lucy shared the latest progress snap on Instagram, where she is pictured sitting in Kristin Ess' salon chair, ready for the second stage. She then showed off a *stunning* snap of the finished product, captioned "10 /2 hours later @kristeness."

Can confirm: It has us all wanting to switch-up our look and copy her lighter locks.
