We don’t know if it’s the fact we’ve spent the last two years in and out of lockdown or the absolute chokehold that Euphoria has on us as a society, but when it comes to makeup, we’re coveting glitter by the truck load.
We’ve all fallen head over heels for the glitzy, jewel-encrusted kind of beauty synonymous with Euphoria’s makeup looks. And it seems we’re not the only ones studying scene by scene to suss out a few handy makeup techniques.
We spoke to Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Claudia Soare (you may know her as Norvina) for her expert tips on how to finally nail the whole glossy glitter vibe.
“Step out of your comfort zone”
Soare loves glitter because it's “a fun way to step out of your comfort zone.”
“It can be both subtle and bold, and take your look from day to night,” she went on to say.
Her go-to glitter look? “Try adding a pop of glitter to your upper cheekbone for a multi-dimensional highlight,” she says.
Simply pair your dewy setting spray with some glitter for a “soft and diffused” look that can layer “perfectly over your complexion products.”
How to apply glitter
As far as we’re concerned, having a proper adhesion technique is a no-brainer when it comes to glittery makeup.
So before you go slathering large quantities of glue on your face, listen to the wise words of a pro makeup artist…
When adhering glitter to skin Soare recommends using “a setting spray or adhesive.”
“For a soft glitter application, mist [the] desired area with setting spray and gently press glitter onto skin with a dry, fluffy brush,” Soare explains.
Or as an alternative, “apply adhesive to [the] desired area and press glitter on top using a synthetic brush,” she suggests.
And remember, you can always layer the glitter to achieve your “desired intensity,” or create a glitter paste by mixing “a small amount of adhesive and glitter together.”
All this Euphoria talk has us reminiscing. This is exactly how to recreate Maddy’s makeup from New Years Eve.
