3 products Olivia Cooke had in her BAFTAs purse that kept her "fresh" on the night

A relatable queen of Westeros

Olivia Cooke may play a literal confident queen in House of The Dragon, but IRL the 29-year-old still gets scared when she walks the red carpet.

Cooke was one of many stars who flocked to London’s Royal Festival Hall for the BAFTAs on Thursday, and the A-list guest list had her shook.

“I sort of show up and then the realisation kicks in that I'm getting pictured and people like Viola Davis and Brendan Gleeson are there,” she told Harper’s Bazaar UK. “I carry that expression onto the red carpet and generally look bewildered and overwhelmed!”

“It's fun to play with hairstyles and with makeup,” she admitted. “[But] it can feel a little stressful and [it's] fair to say not my natural habitat.”

Cooke trusted celebrity makeup artist Lisa Eldridge with her glam on the night, but she likes to stash three products that keep her feeling “fresh” (plus, a snack) in her purse just in case.

“[I] rabbited down [a protein bar] after the awards show at 9pm, before dinner," she confessed. “I've [also] got a very shiny forehead and a very flaky chin, so that's a fun combination.”.

To combat her combo skin woes, Cooke said she tends “to pack a moisturiser [and] blotting papers” — two solid complexion refreshers by any account.

Considering Cooke’s posed for Fenty X Savage, we think it’s safe to assume she’s reaching for Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Blotting Paper ($19.50 at Fenty Beauty).

In a 2021 interview with Byrdie, Cooke shared her top two moisturiser picks are “the 111Skin Hyaluronic Acid Aqua Booster ($162 at MECCA) if I’m feeling a bit dry, or [I] just go straight to CeraVe’s facial moisturiser with SPF25 ($24.99 at Adore Beauty) — [it’s] the only SPF I’ve found to date [that doesn’t] make me break out.”

Considering all the flash photography at the BAFTAs, we’re guessing she stashed the former in her purse. An SPF white cast on the red carpet? Not cute.

Her final purse pick-me-up product is an undeniable necessity — “mints”.

It’s giving ‘relatable’ on so many levels.

Beauty on-the-go is always a mission, but according to Rihanna’s travel beauty routine, the key is to stay hydrated.
