Essential Hydrating Toner

The Dermalogica Multi-Active Toner is such a nostalgic product for me, the scent especially remind me of getting a facial. I have used this product on and off over the years and continue to come back to the Dermalogica Multi-Active Toner. I use it after cleansing and before serum or moisturiser. I feel like using a spray toner or hydrating toner like this helps my serums to apply evenly and penetrate more deeply. I find the Dermalogica Multi-Active Toner to be very calming and smoothing on my skin. It helps calm my skin down if it is irritated from sun exposure or using too many active ingredients. I like to spray this morning too to freshen and awaken my skin.
I absolutely love this toner! When I first used it I was a bit worried because I am highly allergic, and didn't know whether I might react to some of the ingredients (lavender etc).  The first time I used it I spritzed the product onto my face, and although my skin did not react, I did get some irritation in the eye area (I closed them when applying!). I ended up applying the toner to a makeup pad and then smoothing that over my face, especially around the t-zone, and this works very well. I use this in conjunction with a number of other Dermalogica products, and my skin looks and feels amazing!
My relationship with toners is a bit indifferent. If I have one it is ok, if I don't- I don't mind it either. Since I had a deluxe sample of this Multi active Toner I decided to give it a go. I must say I like the simple packaging, the spray nozzle is ok, and the mist is a mist and not raindrops. The scent is very relaxing, pleasant. I do feel I care more about my skin when using this product, but can't really see any other results than that one extra step being relaxing and a bit of fun. Do I like it? yes. Would I buy it? Probably no.
I found this a very pleasing toner. It hydrated the skin leaving it moisturised and refreshed. I found the texture of my skin improve while using this toner. When used over makeup, it gave my skin a pick me up, although at first, it does make the skin feel a bit sticky. I used it as a regular toner at night soaking a cotton pad and wiping it across my skin, it picked up any last traces of makeup, for me this is the best way to use this toner, as it made me look more shiny when I spritzed it over my makeup. I would recommend this spray toner to those especially with dry skin as I feel it definitely provides moisture and the look of moisture, with its dewy like finish. I wouldn’t recommend this toner to those with oily skin because if you already have shiny skin, this will accentuate it.
Multiactive toner is a non-irritating, alcohol free toner. It smells fresh and herbaceous. I actually love the fragrance.  What does multi active do? It smells good, and helps to get traces of cleanser and whatever the cleanser missed (especially around the hairline or jawline where I can get small spots if I do not thourghly cleanse those areas) off. I can be a bit on the combo-oily side and I do like taking a squirt or two of Multi Active in my hand, quickly mixing with a small amount of moisturizer, and applying the diluted product. I find that thinning out my creams and lotions helps a lot, especially if you are prone to clogged pores. You still get the benefits of your moisturizer but it is not too heavy. I like the spray bottle concept too! Honestly, for a gentle toner, I am not sure it is worth the price. But it smells SO GOOD to me and since it seems to work well with my moisturizer, what the heck. This I consider a luxurious treat just because I like the product.
This toner is very refreshing to use throughout the day, you can pretty much use it in your skincare routine, to refresh makeup or just throughout the day to give your skin a quick boost. I love the toner being in a spray bottle, as I can just quickly spray my face without having it to wipe it or add more steps to my already overwhelming skincare routine. Unlike the other dermalogica toners, I feel like this one is for those with oily/combination skin as it is very light and doesn’t feel like it adds too much nourishment to the skin.it feels very hydrating and like it is helping to even out my skin texture and alleviate dehydration lines. It smells a bit chemical like, but not entirely unpleasant.
I feel like toners and face sprays have undergone a resurgence lately, and while I like to try the new releases, I find myself returning tothe Dermalogica Multi-Active Toner. With all of the products that form part of a skin care regime, it can be hard to tell what is effective & what isn’t,but I do notice a difference when I am using this product. My face definitely feels smoother and hydrated, and the texture looks more refined. The scent of this product is very distinctive, due to the inclusion of Aloe, Lavender, Balm mint and Arnica, which has resulted in a pleasant (and not overly floral) scent. It also doesn’t have any artificial scents or colours added. The mist itself is fine, but thorough, and covers the face evenly without having to spray too many times. I generally use this product after cleansing and before applying any other products, however it’s great to keep in the fridge during the Summer months for a cool & refreshing spray throughout the day. Highly recommend!
I have used this toner for a long time.  ON the occasions that I remember.. oops I would say that the product has a lovely fresh smell and it does provide a final clean and my skin feels tighter and firmer after using it. A little bit goes a long way  - so a quick spritz is all that is really needed.  I would recommend this product and I really should try harder to remember to use it in the future! x
A toner may seem redundant these days, but it is a step that takes your clean to a new level.I have used this for years, and it does an amazing job at freshening, soothing and completing my cleansing regime.Dermalogica makes products that are as pleasant to use for the senses as they are effective, and this is no different (it smells divine, but gently so...a herbal / floral scent). This toner takes away all traces of cleanser residue.sebum and last traces of stubborn makeup, leaving a fresh, moist complexion that doesn't feel tight.stripped or parched.I adore this and share it with hubby.TIP:Summer humidity or winter heating making you feel dehydrated ? A spritz of this during the day will alleviate that (and yes, your makeup will remain intact).Pop in fridge for a summer refresher.
