When a product sells out in two days after being released, you can’t help but think everyone knows something you don’t know.
And when said product comes with a substantial price tag ($300!), you can only assume it must be pretty darn good.
Well, Swedish beauty and wellbeing brand FOREO’s LUNA 3 cleansing device did just that.
During its pre-launch at MECCALAND (a beauty festival that ran for three days in Sydney) in May, the FOREO LUNA 3 completely sold out.
“We were overwhelmed with the excitement and level of interest in LUNA 3, so in the spirit of consumer centricity, we decided to delight our FOREO fans and enable them to become some of the first lucky few in the world to be able to buy it,” says Ali Shoraka, Managing Director at FOREO Oceania.
And boy did the FOREO fans love this. Not only did the product sell out at MECCALAND before the festival wrapped up, 2,000 other attendees registered their details to be alerted when they could get their hands on their own FOREO LUNA 3.
The result? Once the product dropped online at mecca.com.au, it sold out completely within two days.
That is some seriously next-level demand.
But considering the brand’s impressive reputation (one device from their range sells every THREE seconds around the world) and celeb following (Meghan Markle and Cara Delevingne are said to be big fans) it isn’t all that surprising.
If you’re not familiar with the brand and their innovative products, allow us to catch you up to speed.
The original FOREO LUNA came into existence when FOREO’s founder Filip Sedic noticed flaws with his wife’s previous cleansing tool.
“My wife Ivana has always been passionate about skincare. In 2012, she started using a well-known brand of facial brushes, but found the so-called ‘best’ product around actually made her skin worse. When looking closer, I couldn’t see how it could be better than just washing with hands – its nylon brush head would harbour bacteria, and it was clearly too abrasive,” says Sedic.
When the couple started looking around for something better, they were left wanting.
“To our surprise, a gentler more hygienic alternative didn’t exist, so we decided to create one ourselves,” says Sedic.
And this device has continued to go from strength to strength with the brand constantly developing new features and refining their already-amazing beauty tools.
The newly launched LUNA 3 is made from an ultra-hygienic silicone body and delivers enhanced T-sonic pulsations to give your skin its most thorough cleanse ever. What sets it apart from its predecessors is the clever functionality that allows you to customise your cleanse and the fact that it can all be controlled via the FOREO app.
