How to make your pores look smaller

This hack changes everything

Reddit just showed us how to minimise the appearance of pores with the help of a neat little makeup duo AND you probably already have these two products in your beauty kit. Heck. Yes.

On a little slice of heaven known as the Makeup Addiction subreddit on Reddit, a user named sedatedcow420 (sounds legit), asked fellow Redditors for their favourite products or techniques for minimising the appearance of pores.

While there was a whole lotta praise for pore-fighting primers such as Smashbox Pore Minimizing Primer, Benefit Porefessional, Lancôme La Base Pro Porekiller and Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner, we actually spied a nifty little hack that could quite possibly change the way you apply makeup.

A Redditor by the name of panpanpanda wrote, “After I put on my foundation, I set it with Laura Mercier translucent powder using my damp beauty blender. I find that this method fills in my pores more than using a brush and makes my pores invisible.”

“I just tap some into the lid and dab my beauty blender into the powder. Then I pounce that sh*t on my face to perfection.”

Mind. Blown.

One Redditor replied, “Are you me? Haha. This is the best way to look flawless IMHO.”

Why have we never heard/tried this? It’s so simple! Yet, so genius.

“Did we just become best friends? But seriously, that trick hides all my pores and keeps me from looking powdery. I am all about that life,” wrote panpanpanda in reply.

Another Redditor by the name of gnuchan jumped in on the powder lovefest, dishing out some more helpful pointers on how to obtain the perfect coverage without making your complexion look too cakey or dry.

“Besides primers, using a finely milled loose powder and pressing into your skin with a damp beauty blender really helps. Just make sure to swipe excess off with a powder brush at the end so you don't get too dry looking. As for skincare, remember that pores are normal and we all have them so don't beat yourself up too much about it!”

What a crowd!
