The 2017 spring racing season has just kicked off and a plethora of Australian celebrities have been out in full force, showing off stunning frocks and beauty looks to match. If you’re heading to the races this year and are running low on hair and makeup inspiration, we’ve got the looks you need to get you race day ready.
If you’re looking to be a tad more adventurous with your makeup at the races, then a bright statement lip à la Jennifer Hawkins is the way to go. However, if you’re going to jump on the red lip bandwagon, make sure to choose a matte and long-lasting formula to ensure touch-ups are kept to a minimum.
Sometimes you want to let your accessories, rather than your makeup, do the talking. If this sounds like you then follow Rachael Finch’s lead and pull your hair back in a tight bun, making sure to slick any fly-aways down with a light layer of smoothing serum.
Bed hair, but better
Textured locks like Ksenija Lukich’s are the perfect modern take on traditional loose waves, and a great hairstyle for those wanting to keep their races look simple. For this bed hair (only better) look, spritz a texturising spray throughout the mid-lengths and ends of blow-dried hair.
Samantha Harris’ wavy ponytail is a sophisticated-yet-simple look to recreate for hairstyling beginners or those who simply want to keep their hair up and out of their face throughout the day. For this look, go the easy route and ditch your curling tong for a texturising spray. Simply spritz away before pulling your hair loosely back towards the middle of your head.
If you’re after a pretty and feminine ‘do for the races then Tegan Martin’s updo is one to try. Blow-dry your hair straight before pulling your lengths back into a low bun at the nape of your neck, making sure to pull a few strands at the crown of your head loose.
